BARRETT, Robert Thomas " Bob"
Peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday afternoon, May 27th, 2007. Robert Thomas BARRETT, of Owen Sound, passed away in his 71st year after a courageous battle with cancer. Dearly beloved husband of June BARRETT (née BELL.) Loving father of Deborah LATHAM and her husband, Paul and Doctor Jeffrey BARRETT and his wife, Janice, both of Owen Sound. Loving Papa of William and Julia LATHAM and Liam and Sam BARRETT. Dear brother of Alf BARRETT and his wife, Marion, of Owen Sound and Gloria CHITTICK and her husband, Dave, of Hanover. Dear uncle of Kevin, Heather, Brian, Steven and their families. Predeceased by his parents, George and Daisy BARRETT. Bob retired from the Air Force in 1979 and from P.P.G. in 2002. Bob will always be remembered for his devotion towards his family and for his courage in the face of illness. He had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed being with others. His laugh will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Doctor Fred VEENSTRA and the many health care workers who provided exemplary care. Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Bob BARRETT will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Scott SINCLAIR officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation as your expression of sympathy. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, Owen Sound will hold a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening at 6: 45 p.m.

SHIGEI, Fumiko
Born July 17, 1917 Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away December 5th, 2007 in her 90th year. She spent the war years in Japan and then she returned to Canada in 1952. For the next 55 years she was part of the Sydney and Florence COOPER Family she is remembered fondly by their children Tobie BEKHOR, Richard COOPER, Lynda LATNER their spouses and children. Remembered by Trixie and Harry Suyehiro and Family, relatives and Friends in Toronto and Japan. In accordance with her wishes Fumiko will be cremated and her ashes returned to her family in Japan. Memorial Service will take place at the Toronto Buddhist Church 1011 Sheppard Avenue West on Saturday December 15th, 2007 at 2 p.m. With much appreciation to the Doctors and Staff at the Princess Margaret Hospital and the Baycrest Hospital-Palliative Care.

On Tuesday, January 9, 2007, comforted by John, Joan and Joslyn, she passed peacefully into God's hands at Extendicare (London). Beloved wife of the late Harry Bruce TAILOR/TAYLOR. Loved mother of John TAILOR/TAYLOR and his wife Joan. Loving grandmother of Joslyn and Andrew REID and great-grandmother of Justyn and Adam. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Bertha PICKERING, Lawrence SCOTT, Rena and Orville TRUEMNER, Marilyn PICKERING, Rev. Joyce E. ELDER, Grace and Valere DENOMME, Marilyn and Willis ROCK, Karen PICKERING, Ken PICKERING, Cathy PICKERING, Leonard and Judith PICKERING and Betty and William COECK. Predeceased by sisters Iva LATTA and Hazel SCOTT and brothers Earl, Ross, Jack, Harvey, Glen, James and Don PICKERING. Also predeceased by sister-in-law Evelyn (née SHANK) PICKERING and brother-in-law William LATTA and parents Elmer and Martha (née BAYNHAM) PICKERING. Eva will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell) for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Beloved wife of the late Jacob HESLINGA (December 9, 1999) and dearly mother of Jacob F. and his wife Ethel HESLINGA of Saint Thomas, Elizabeth and her husband Bill SNETSELAAR of Saint Thomas, Frederik and his wife Mary HESLINGA of Mount Hope and Effie and her husband Frank LATTANZIO of Saint Thomas. Loved grandmother of Ryk and his wife Lisa SNETSELAAR, Joni and her husband Kevin KERVIN, Duane and his wife Leigh HESLINGA, Glen and his wife Pamela HESLINGA, David and his wife Hannah HESLINGA, Maria and her husband Lenny MALLETT, Daniel and his fiancée Amanda SAYER, Angela and her husband Shawn ABEDIN, Sara and her husband Robert McCARTER, Frank Robert and his wife Krista LATTANZIO and Michael LATTANZIO and friend Kalely GLEESON. Sarah was born in Holland on January 11, 1915, the daughter of the late Sjerp and Saakje IEDEMA. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St. Saint Thomas until Monday morning and then to the First Christian Reformed Church for funeral service at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
