MITCHELL, Ruth Margaret (née TINGLEY)
Peacefully at the Welland General Hospital on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the age of 93. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, music teacher, arts enthusiast and talented artist. Born in Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick, in April, 1914, to Eva (née AYER) and Harold TINGLEY. She inherited her love of art from her father who was a well known sculptor and monument maker in Nova Scotia. She graduated from the Halifax Conservatory of Music in Pianoforte and trained at the Nova Scotia College of Art in fine arts and design. Over the years in addition to the Maritimes she lived in various locations including Toronto, the Netherlands, Leamington, Ontario and most recently Welland. Her paintings are in many private collections and she has exhibited in one person shows in Kitchener, Leamington, Amherstburg and Toronto, as well as in many juried shows throughout Ontario. In recent years she worked a great deal in mixed media and her works in this form have been displayed at the Windsor, London and Sarnia Art Galleries and Cambridge Library in their rental sections. Her family is most grateful to the staff of St. Charles Village, Welland, for their thoughtful care over the past seven years and to the staff of the Welland General Hospital for all their consideration. Predeceased in 2000 by her husband of 62 years, Claude, she is remembered with love by her daughter Corinne (Michael WALSH,) granddaughter Erin (Jason NICKS) and grand_son Michael. Great-grandmother of Sydney and Rylee. She is also survived by her sister Helen DOWELL and brother Ralph TINGLEY. The family will receive Friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 1: 00 -- 2:00 p.m. A funeral service, conducted by Reverend George SCHMIDT, will follow in the Cudney Chapel at 2: 00 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. CLARK, T.L. "Lew"
Born Bangor, Maine, died Montreal, Quebec, on November 23, 2007, aged 85 years. Devoted husband of Joan Ross CLARK. Loving father of Ross, Christopher and Jocelyn (Rick BRAND.) Proud grandfather of Katie, Sara, Griffin and Ethan. son of the late Theodore CLARK and Dorothy AYER. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Dorothy and Willem AUER, and of Graham ROSS (Susan.) Much loved uncle and great uncle of many Auer and Ross nieces and nephews. Dear friend since childhood of Henry Humphrey Moulton and Fred Pillsbury, and of their wives Betsy and Bina.
Thanks to the staff of the Griffith McConnell Residence and the Aylmer Must agency for their friendly, cheerful care.
Lew lived a full life: boyhood in New England; education at Milton Academy and Harvard College; service in the South Pacific as an officer in the U.S. Navy; employment with Dewey and Almy in Cambridge and Montreal, with Alcan in Montreal, Ross Cutter in Waltham, and Cambridge again with Harvard University Press; and outdoor pursuits including sailing, cross country skiing and walking. He retired in Montreal, spending time in voluntary activities in the community and learnt to curl at the Royal Montreal Curling Club. Lew's happiest moments were in the company of his family and Friends.
Memorial service Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at 2 p.m., at the Unitarian Church of Montreal, 5035 De Maisonneuve Blvd. West, Montreal.

Widow of Leonard A. TAILOR/TAYLOR, nearing her 92nd birthday, died peacefully and comfortably in her home in the presence of her daughters, on December 5, 2007. Devoted mother of Eve-Lynne J. TROXEL (George Fabian) and Jocelyn M. COOK. Loving grandmother of Matthew and Allison LEE, Rebecca TROXEL and Jillian COOK. Sister of Grace (Bill) CLEMENTS. Predeceased by brothers Howard, Ernest and George RIDOUT, sister Mary AYERS, and sister-in-law Irene ANDREWS. Eve was loved, admired and respected by all who knew her and her passing will leave a huge gap in the hearts of her family and Friends. Special thanks to Doctor Mark NOWACYNSKI, Annette DRINKWATER from Senior Peoples' Resource in North Toronto and nurse Judy DEMPSEY for all their warm and loving care. Memorial service will be held at Murray E. Newbigging Funeral Home at 733 Mt. Pleasant Rd. in Toronto, on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. Flowers or donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
