NEUMAN, Shirley (formerly SHAEN, née WASSERMAN)
On October 31, 2007 passed away peacefully after complications from a recent illness surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her wide and loving circle of Friends, Shirley will leave a painful void in the life of her husband, Mel NEUMAN, with whom she enjoyed the best 19 years of her life. The indescribable loss will also be felt by her two children, Michael SHAEN (Anita MacKEY) and Debbie SHAEN (David WALKER.) Shirley will also be dearly missed by Mel's children, Debbie BELLAN (Phil BELLAN,) Jody ADELMAN (David ADELMAN) and Ralph NEUMAN (Miriam NEUMAN). Shirley was also a much-loved grandmother. 'Bobbie' Shirley will be missed by her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Andrew, Emma, Rachel, Laura, Marnie, Jamey, Lane (Kate), Cara, Lauren, Ruel and Jenna. Anyone and everyone who knew Shirley were immediately captured by her infectious enthusiasm, energy and joy for life. These qualities will be missed by all. Her capacity for love, Friendship and compassion will endure forever. Donations in Shirley's honour can be made to: Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, The Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irwin ADELSON, in Montreal, on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Beloved husband of the late Esther WILK. Cherished father of Andy and Cynthia ADELSON, Gail and Alan MARCOVITZ, Heather and Brad ZIPKIN. Adored Zaidye of Melanie, Ryan and Brandon; Danielle, Jaclyn and Adam Jordan, Lauren and Justin. Good friend and partner of Clara SHEFTMAN. Loving brother of Eddie and Frankie ADELSON, the late Doris LUBARSKY, and brother-in-law of the late Sabina and the late Sydney WOLOFSKY. He was dearly loved by his nieces and nephews and will be missed by his family and many Friends. A very special thank you to Doctor Arthur Rosenberg and the staff of Hematology and Oncology at the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal on Friday, August 17 at 11 a.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, Mt. Royal Blvd., Montreal. Shiva at 218 Edgehill Rd., Westmount. Contributions in his memory may be made to the "Irwin Adelson Memorial Fund for Hematology" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251. He was an optimistic and determined man for whom life was always "fantastic".

O'BRIEN, Richard
Passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the age of 59. Survived by his mother Catherine O'BRIEN and predeceased by his father Joseph O'BRIEN and his brother Greg. Remembered by his sisters Marylou and Colleen, nephew Matt and nieces Jordann and Riva. Remembered with so much love and laughter by his life long friend Patti HABIB and godson Alexander HABIB. Thank you to his loyal caregiver Patricia BRAITHWAITE and his wonderful Doctor, Raquel ADELSTEIN. Special love and gratitude to the 4th Dimension family, Cheryl, Brent, Candace, and Liam TITCOMB. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, (North of Lawrence) on Wednesday, October 17 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. in the Ward Chapel.
