Brantford -- Family, Friends and community members gathered at a church yesterday to celebrate the life of Jared OSIDACZ, an eight-year-old boy stabbed to death by his father. Jared was killed by Andrew OSIDACZ in a multiple stabbing at a Brantford townhouse last Saturday.
Mr. OSIDACZ, 41, was shot and killed in a confrontation with police. His girlfriend, Paula FERREL, and her eight-year-old daughter are in hospital with serious injuries.
The province's Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of Mr. OSIDACZ.
At the funeral, Jared was remembered as a loving son and a hero, who the family said died protecting Ms. FERREL and her daughter.
