Peacefully on Wednesday March 8, 2006 at Leimgardt's Retirement Home, Stayner at the age of 95. Greta, beloved wife of the late Hendrik (1995.) Loving mother of Rose VERSCHUUR, Henk and his wife Gertie, Carrie and her late husband Harry PLOEG, Henny and her husband Bert SCHALY, Will and his wife Janice, George and his late wife Gaile, the late Willy and the late Walter. Cherished grandmother of 30 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Willem DAVELAAR, grand_sons Eric and Johnny and great grand_son Bradley. Friends were received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home, Stayner (705-428-2637) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Service was held at Jubilee Presbyterian Church, 7320 Highway 26, Stayner Saturday March 11, 2006 at 2 o'clock. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. The family of the Greta NYHOF wish to express their thankfulness to the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home for their wonderful and expert services provided with the passing of our dear mother. To the Leimgardt retirement home for the six years of loving care they provided both by owners and staff. Doctor IVES and the Elizabeth Health Care who provided professional care the last days of mother's life. Pastors Jeff INGLIS and Berv BROCKWELL for their comforting words and prayers and June FLYNN for the beautiful music provided at the funeral. The Jubilee Presbyterian Ladies for the excellent lunch provided after the service and all our family and Friends who came to comfort us with flowers and cards during the loss of our dear mother. Thank you very much again,

COUPS, John Alexander " Jack"
Unexpectedly and suddenly at University Hospital on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, John Alexander (Jack) COUPS passed away. Jack is the loving husband of Nancy Jane (HOLMES) of 45 years. Devoted father and doting Poppy of Julie Anne NYHOUT, her husband Greg, and their sons William and Derek, of London, Doctor Kathryn Coups SMITH and her husband Jeffrey SMITH and their children Rebecca and Pierce of London, John COUPS and his wife Rhonda HARTLIEB and their son Ethan of Goderich. Predeceased by his parents Jean and Stanley COUPS and his in-laws Marnie and James HOLMES all of London. Survived by his sister-in-law Joanne PETTIT and her husband Ronald of Sudbury and their children and grandchildren and brother-in-law James HOLMES and his wife Joan of London and their children and grandchildren. Jack was a Londoner. Born at home on Westmount Hill on April 21, 1938, Jack was an only child. He was encouraged at a young age to pursue his studies and sports. At 6'4" with red hair, Jack was quite the offensive lineman for South Collegiate where he met his future wife Nancy Jane. Jack received his Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1960. Jack played offensive line for the Mustangs and was proud to be on the team the year that the Stangs were undefeated. Jack was also a loyal member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jack's career involved human resources management of Somerville Industries and Wolverine Tube before taking the position of Vice President, Human Resources at University Hospital when the hospital opened its doors in 1971 until his retirement. Jack was dedicated to his volunteer work and was on the Board of Directors for the W Club (U.W.O.), Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Rotary, Victim Services and London Community Foundation. Jack and Nancy Jane were both heavily involved in their church Saint_John's. Jack has a huge circle of Friends and especially enjoyed his weekly lunch with his buddies at the Ceeps. Jack loved to fish at the Key River, golf at Sunningdale, travel the world with Nancy Jane, and most of all be with his children and grandchildren, especially at the family cottage in Grand Bend. Friends may call on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London. The funeral service will be conducted at The Church of Saint_John the Evangelist, 280 Saint_James Street at Wellington on Friday, May 26 at 11: 00 a.m. Memorial contribution to Merrymount Children's Centre will be greatly appreciated.
