COWAN, Shirley Anne (née EURKE)
On Saturday, February 11, 2006 in her home with her family. Beloved and eternal source of sunshine for husband Cameron, mother Bernice, sons Kevan, Shawn and Craig, friend and daughter-in-law Susan, grand_son Cole, granddaughter Courtney and brother Fred (deceased). Her cup forever full, she saw good in everyone and joy around every corner. These were her greatest gifts, and we will carry them with us always. These were also the gifts that she brought to her great passion, teaching little children, which she did over a long and outstanding career as a kindergarten teacher with the Toronto and Scarborough Boards of Education. In this role she excelled at ensuring a positive first step for thousands of young children entering the education system. Her influence was such that many former pupils still call and write to express their love and gratitude. Her example motivated many young people to choose a teaching career and thus her influence continues on. Family and Friends will be received at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) on Tuesday, February 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 12 noon at Saint John's United Church, 2 Norbert Rd., Scarborough. Reception to follow service. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery.
