PUBLICOVER, Elaine Hazen (formerly HAZEN, née Lillian MacARTHUR)
Died peacefully December 2, 2005 in her 91st year in Halifax. Elaine was a pioneering broadcaster and was well known as television Nurse, a program which was seen regularly for 10 years in the 1960's and 1970's by thousands of viewers in Eastern Maine, most of New Brunswick, western and northern Nova Scotia. She had for several years been a member of the World Health Organization, an arm of the United Nations. She was a graduate of Pictou Academy, the Children's Hospital School of Nursing (Halifax) and McGill University. Elaine, beautiful, gracious, determined, brave and fun. Daughter of the former Henry and Ella MacARTHUR of Pictou. Beloved wife of George F. PUBLICOVER. Mother of Douglas HAZEN (Maura Ann) of Smiths Falls, Ontario and Frances Carmichael (Jack CASHMAN) of Toronto, Ontario. She is also sadly missed by her grandchildren Stephanie CASTURA (Jeff,) Samantha HAZEN (Dave ARMSTRONG) and Doug HAZEN Jr., great-grandchild Evan CASTURA. Dear sister of Welsford MacARTHUR. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Dr. Frank HAZEN of Saint John New Brunswick, brother Edward, sisters Joyce and Constance. Acknowledgement and special thanks to the staff of the Scotia Nursing Home, Beaverbank, for their excellent and compassionate care. Also thanks to Dr. Chris McKnight for his guidance and assistance. Finally, the family could not have managed Mom's illness without the unyielding help of Friends Donna and Ernie Bellefontaine of Sackville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m., at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 7 at 1: 00 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, in Halifax, with the Very Reverend Glen R. Burgomaster officiating. The service will be followed by a reception in Worrell Hall. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Elaine's name to the 'Save the Children Fund'.

NOBLE, Coral (née CRAGG)
Peacefully with her family by her side at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound Monday evening November 28th, 2005. The former Coral CRAGG of Shallow Lake at the age of 68 went home to be with her Saviour. Loving wife and best friend of Murray NOBLE. Cherished mother of Denise (Cameron WITT) of Chilliwack, British Columbia; Sandy (Dr. John YATES) of Oakville; Carolyn (Dr. Roger SKINNER;) Susan (Brian DAVENPORT) all of Owen Sound Sharon (Brian BOWES) of Barrie and Diane (Arman STOVER) of Stouffville. Lovingly remembered by her twenty-one grandchildren. Dear sister of Stewart CRAGG and Luticia (Moe PUBLUSKE) both of Owen Sound. Dear sister-in-law of Phyllis HATLELID; Jim (Isabelle) NOBLE Don (Marilyn) NOBLE; Grace (Harold GARD;) John (Amy) NOBLE; Ruth (Rev. Gord WILLIAMS); Carroll (Jim LEE) and Marjorie (Jack HEWITT). Predeceased by her parents Harvey and Wilda CRAGG, brothers Harvey (1954); William (infancy) and an infant grand-daughter Melissa WITT (1982.) Friends may call at the Downs and son Funeral Home Hepworth Thursday from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Shallow Lake United Church Friday morning at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Jack TWEDDLE and Rev. Gord WILLIAMS officiating. Interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake. Memorial contributions to the Shallow Lake United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
