PERRY, Edith Ann ''Deed'' -- Died peacefully in hospital, on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at the age of 84, after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband William Gladstone PERRY Q.C. (1969) and her daughter Nancy Ann (2001). Deed was the loved daughter of John Herbert CASTER and Della Ida Elizabeth McGILL. She is survived by her daughters Jane PERRY of Scarborough, Martha (Frank LEFEBVRE) of Edmonton, Alberta and Barbara (Darin and step-daughter Misti RICHARDSON) of Raymond, Illinois. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kathleen (Dan ENGEL) and David LEFEBVRE (Brandi-Le MULLIGAN) of Edmonton. She will be missed by her many Friends in Northern Ontario and Toronto. Mrs. PERRY was a graduate of the Bishop Strachan School, Toronto and received a B.Sc. in Physical Education from the University of Toronto. Her early interests in athletics began with boating and swimming during summers at Caesarea on Lake Scugog and continued into her adult life. While raising her family in North Bay, Deed was active on the City Parks and Recreation Committee, taught basketball and square dancing. Together with her husband Bill, she enjoyed many years of golf, curling, cottaging and cheering on the Trappers and the Leafs. These are activities her family continues to enjoy. Her home was always hopping, with Deed co-ordinating the comings and goings of her daughters, the ''boys'' and their many Friends. Deed was an active member of the North Bay Real Estate Board starting with Knox Real Estate and concluding her 13 year career with Carlyle Real Estate. Following her return to Toronto in 1997, Deed became an avid member of the Providence Centre-Alzheimer Day Program participating fully in all club activities until she was hospitalized in November. Her smile and ready wit will be missed by both staff and club members alike. The family would like to thank Connie for her special care and devotion which allowed Deed to enjoy the comforts of home when not at the day program. Sincere gratitude is extended to Dr. Larry GROSSMAN and the exceptional staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Scarborough Hospital - Grace Division. Thanks especially to Heather, Claire, Karen and Bonnie. Your thoughtfulness and expertise made Deed's final days so much better and meant so much to her family. The family will receive Friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at the Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wylde Street, North Bay, Ontario on Monday at 2 p.m. Visitation to be held 1 hour prior to service. Interment Terrace Lawn Cemetery, North Bay, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Scarborough Grace Hospital - Palliative Care Unit, your local Alzheimer Society or to the Providence Centre - Alzheimer Day Program.

Geraldine Wilma BRYAN
In loving memory of Geraldine Wilma BRYAN, August 28, 1922-April 18, 2002.
Geraldine (DEAN) BRYAN, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the age of 79 years. She was born in Tehkummah, daughter of the late Wilmer and Emma {HANER} McCAULEY. She had worked at the smelter in Sudbury during the war, and afterwards helped her husband Norman at his service station. Geraldine spent 50 years in Sudbury before returning to the Island, then lived for 2 years with Verlie and Robert, and 3 years in her own apartment, and lastly moved to the Lodge about 1 year ago. She enjoyed dancing in her earlier years, and reading and gardening. However, her life revolved around her family. Her greatest pleasure was looking after and being part of her families' lives. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her caring and interest in her family will be missed, but will be cherished forever.
Predeceased by her loving husband Norman Phillip BRYAN on February 1, 1993. Dearly loved and loving mother of Verlie and her husband Robert McGILLIS of Mindemoya proud grandmother of Tammy and her husband Cyle RITCHIE of Cambridge and Ginger McGILLIS of Sudbury and great grandchildren Brittany McGILLIS and Zachary RITCHIE. Dear sister of Gladys CHATWELL of Kitchener and sister-in-law Elaine McCAULEY of Tehkummah. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Gerald McCAULEY and sister Marie McCAULEY.
The funeral service was conducted at the Mindemoya United Church on Saturday, April 20, 2002 with Reverend Mary Jo ECKERT TRACY officiating. Interment in Mindemoya Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Culgin Funeral Home.

Elva Lauretta McGILLIS
In loving memory of Elva Lauretta McGillis, June 16, 1914 to December 6, 2002. Lauretta McGILLIS, a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Friday December 6, 2002 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Tehkummah Twp., daughter of the late George and Laura (BAXTER) VINEY. She was a member of the United Church, loved growing flowers, especially her pansies and glads, and enjoyed knitting and sewing, having made many quilts. Lauretta was a hard working farm wife and mother, and will be fondly remembered for her pride, love and enjoyment of her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Neil McGILLIS on February 26, 1993. Loving and loved mother of June LENTIR, (husband Russ HERRINGTON predeceased,) Robert and his wife Verlie McGILLIS of Mindemoya and Rick and his wife Debby McGILLIS of Trout Creek. Proud grandmother of Diane, Laura (husband George MARTIN,) Tammy (husband Cyle RITCHIE,) Patrick (friend Amy WALKER,) Ginger (husband Rick DESFORGE,) Victoria (friend Randy QUIRT) and great grandchildren George, Jennifer, Logan, Brittany, Zachary, Gavin and Samantha. Dear sister of Harry VINEY (wife Margaret predeceased,) Charlie (Lillian) VINEY, Glen (Margaret) VINEY, Joyce (Howard) HOLMES, Gladys, predeceased, husband Harry JAGGARD, Ruth, husband Wm. T. McCULLOUGH both predeceased and Grace, husband Carm HUNTER, both predeceased. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

McEACHNIE, William Harold -- Surrounded by his loving family, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 after a short and courageous battle. Former owner of McEachnie Funeral Home in Pickering Village for more than 50 years. Beloved husband of Barbara and the late Catherine. Predeceased by his parents William and Mary. Loving Father of David (Nancy,) Lynn McGILLIVRAY (Kevin), Scott (Marie), Shawna MAYES (Dan), Cara CAPELLO (Mike), and Ryan. Loved Grandfather of Luke, John CRAIG, Marc, Nikki, Patrick, William, Matthew and Allysha. Fondly remembered by his aunt, Mary BEARD. Bill will be sadly missed by many Friends and extended family. Visitation will take place at the Pickering Village United Church (300 Church Street North), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Service at the church on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment Erskine Cemetery.
