RICHARDSON, Laird
A longtime Wallaceburg resident, died unexpectedly but peacefully at the Sarnia General Hospital, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in his 90th year. Laird was the beloved husband of the late Nellie RICHARDSON, and the much loved father of Nancy (and John) WILDMAN, Janet (and Scott) JACKS and Clark (and Carol) RICHARDSON. Excellent Grampa to Michael (and Stephanie) JACKS, Mary Catherine (and Kelly) YEN, Sarah (and Scott) MILLER, Emily (and Jonathan) GARYFALAKIS, Jennifer JACKS and Alexandra WILDMAN. Great-grandfather to Owen, Yonas and Spencer. Survived by his brothers Verne and Jay; predeceased by his sister Myrtle. Laird was a longtime member of the Wallaceburg Rotary Club and a Paul Harris award winner. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg, on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Laird's life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. from Trinity United Church. Visitation will also take place from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Church. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wallaceburg Rotary Club may be left at the funeral home.

Peacefully at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Sunday, April 20, 2008, with his family by his side, Roy GREVE of R.R.#1 West Lorne in his 86th year. Predeceased by his wife Joan (2003). Dear father of Pamela (Archie) VAN DE VELDE of Appin, David GREVE (Denise of Ingersoll) of West Lorne and Alan (Liz) GREVE of Cairngorm. Loved by 6 grandchildren, Terry and Christopher VAN DE VELDE, Daniel and Amy, Aleisha and Emily GREVE. Also survived by 3 sisters, Margaret, Doris (Leo MONTGOMERY) and Evelyn CUCKSEY (late Ray). Predeceased by his parents, Wilhelmine (YENDT) and Herman GREVE and his brothers and sisters, Jacob, Cordelia (Earl BROADFOOT,) Carl, Viola, Jean, Edgar and Harry. Relatives and Friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral service will be held at Saint_John's Anglican Church, Glencoe on Thursday April 24th at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine CRAWFORD officiating. Interment Longwood Cemetery, Melbourne. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 219 will conduct a service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7: 00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Four Counties Health Services Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.

At Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Rodney Orlando HELWIG of Neustadt in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Audrey HELWIG and father of Franklin HELWIG and his wife Dona of Brantford, Yvonne HELWIG of Newboro, Jennifer YENSSEN and her husband Harvey of Carrick Township and Christine KAPTEYN and her husband John of South Carolina. Remembered by his grandchildren Tammy, Charles, Jason, Icrus, Rebecca, Angela, Vincent and Jessica, and by his great-grandchildren Brian, Caprice, Olivia, Lucas, Ryan and Tristan. Brother of Doctor Lynn HELWIG and his wife Joan of Toronto and Larry HELWIG and his wife Gwen of Oregon and brother-in-law of Ruth HELWIG, Susan SMITH, Laureyne HELWIG, Gloria VAN SLYKE, Rev. David and Elaine METZGER, Lewis METZGER and Emily and George COUSINS. Predeceased by his brothers Harry HELWIG and his wife Marie, Homer HELWIG and his wife Mildred, Howard HELWIG, Paul HELWIG and Glen HELWIG, and by his parents Lynn and Lucinda (SCHNEIDER) HELWIG. Rodney was involved in his community having served as Reeve of Neustadt for 14 years. He was an active member of the Neustadt Baptist Church, the Neustadt Lions Club, the Neustadt-Normanby-Carrick Agricultural Society, and the Saugeen Valley Chorus. Friends may call at the Garrett Funeral Chapel, Neustadt on Sunday from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Neustadt Baptist Church on Monday, February 25 at 1: 30 p.m. Following cremation, interment in the Neustadt Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations to Grey Bruce Alzheimer Society or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
