At Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Joan Marie BROWN (PARKER) of Markdale, formerly of Guelph in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Ivan BROWN. Dear mother of Peter BROWN (Lesley SNEDDON) of Carleton Place, Terry BRODIE (Ray LEWIS) of Markdale, Rebekah THEODORE of Guelph and Virginia STEFFLER (Glenn) of Markham. Grandmother of Matthew, Heather and Evan BRODIE, Madeleine and Abraham THEODORE, Isobel BAKER- BROWN, Emerson and Benjamin STEFFLER. Sister of Doreen MORROW, Barbara MORROW, David PARKER and Walter PARKER. Predeceased by brother Roland. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 29th at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, at 2: 00 p.m. Spring interment in Markdale Cemetery. Passed away peacefully at McCormick Home on May 31, 2008, Leo DOUCETTE in his 75th year. Beloved husband and companion of Helen (née McCARTHY) for over 52 years. He will be lovingly missed by his devoted daughters Dympna CYBULSKI and her husband Dan, and Elizabeth SNEDDON and her husband Ken McLENNAN. Cherished grandfather of Anne, Scott (Amanda), Julie, David, Mary, and B.J. Dear brother to Emily GIOIA (Tony,) Blanche OUGH (Art,) Paul (Mary Rose) and Linda MINOR (Rudy). Leo served his country from 1952 to 1973 and finished his military career as a Master Warrant Officer. He was also a past District Govenor with the Angus and Thornton Lions Clubs, and a past Grand Knight of the Our Lady of Grace Parish Knights of Columbus Council #10818 in Angus. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street on Tuesday morning June 2, 2008 at 10 o'clock. Interment Saint Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Monday evening at 7: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memory Lane McCormick Home. 'Gone but not forgotten.'

Of Saint Thomas in her 91st year at Parkwood Hospital, London on May 24th, 2008, with her family at her side. Beloved wife of 53 years of Wilbert (1999) and the most wonderful Mother to Jim (Linda) of Fonthill and Mary (Robert) MARTIN of St. George. Cherished Grandmother of Jodie (Joel) BELLEROSE; the late Amy Kerr DICKSON/DIXON (2005;) Nicole (Chip) FOSTER; Peta (Wes) SNEEK; Katie MARTIN and Jacqueline MARTIN. Very special "GGma" to Benjamin and Spencer BELLEROSE; Paige DICKSON/DIXON; Keeley and Charlie SNEEK; Lake and Finn FOSTER. Margaret is also survived by her sister Elizabeth FISHER and sisters-in-law Georgeana DOBIE; Martha TAILOR/TAYLOR; Florence KERR Alberta KERR; Stella GREENWOOD and sister and brother-in-law Ena and Charlie BROWN. Fondly and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and Friends. Margaret enjoyed her 30 year teaching career and was very proud to have given hundreds of Saint Thomas children their first experience at school as their kindergarten teacher-she was a "mother to all". She was also honoured to pilot the fist Junior Kindergarten in Saint Thomas at Arthur Voaden Secondary School in the 1970's. Margaret and Wilbert appreciated their life together and enhanced the community with their involvement in Saint Thomas - the Bambi Shop, dedicated members of Knox Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, teaching, the Seniors' Centre and various volunteer organizations. The family is extremely grateful to the kindness, caring and support of Doctor Cathy FAULDS and Doctor Cathy WALSH; Lori LATKEY and the staff at Metcalfe Gardens; the Acute Care staff at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and the amazing nurses on the Palliative wing at Parkwood. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27th from 6: 30 to 8:30 p.m. and a celebration of Margaret's life will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28th. Both the visitation and service will be at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Quietly in her sleep at Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto on Friday January 4, 2008 at the age of 86. Married for 65 years, Alma is survived by her loving husband Clifford James FIRMIN, son Larry and his wife Susan SNELGROVE and her two grandchildren, Michael and Jeremy. Predeceased by her sisters June, Eileen and her brother Charles, all of Saint Thomas, Ontario. Alma is remembered by all who knew her as a loving spirit who had a ready smile and a kind heart. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street) on Thursday, January 10 at 11: 00 a.m. Reception to follow.

Past Governor of the Optimist Clubs in the Eastern Ontario District and former principal with the Dufferin School Board. son of the late Gordon and Sylvia (née STEWARD/STEWART/STUART) HAW of Dundalk. Beloved husband of the former Doris ECCLES and much loved father of Mark HAW and his wife Sharon, Scott HAW and his wife Jennifer and Joanne and her husband Peter SCHULZ all of Barrie. Sadly missed Papa of Taylor and Jonathan HAW, Jacob HAW, and Kavan, Rori and Rowan SCHULZ. Dear brother of Fred SNELL (Ardiste) of Lethbridge, Alberta, Audrey NORTHEY (late Les) of Minden, Wanda VANDER KRAAN (late Herb) of Fort Erie, Lois SCHISTAD (late Eric) of London, David SNELL (Mary Lou) of Waterloo, Evelyn HARRINGTON of Fergus, and Brian SNELL of Font Hills, Alberta. After a courageous battle with cancer, Violet, in her 93rd year, died peacefully in her sleep, on Wednesday July 23, 2008, at Saint_Joseph's Health Centre. She is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Canon Herbert SNELL (1984) and brother-in-law Bishop Geoge SNELL (2006.) She is survived by her son Bruce (Elizabeth) and daughter Sandra MacKIN; grandchildren Stephen and Cynthia SMITH (Tim;) and great-granddaughter Sienna SMITH. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. George's on-the-Hill Anglican Church, 4600 Dundas Street West, at 11: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, followed by a reception. Of Aylmer passed away peacefully at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, June 27 on the day of her 92nd birthday. She was born in Pamel, Belgium and was the beloved wife of 62 years of Albert ANCKAERT of Aylmer. Mary will also be greatly missed by her children: Gert ANCKAERT of London, Chris and his wife Deb of Dorchester, Rita FERGUSON and her husband Roger of Eden, Loretta THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her husband Jim of Aylmer, Ben and his wife Bonnie of Aylmer. She will be lovingly remembered by all of her grandchildren: Eleanor ANCKAERT, Brendan DUNLOP, Patrick, Peter and Emilie ANCKAERT, Kara SNELLING and her husband Chris, Natalie FERGUSON, Jesse, Evan, Janice and Kyle THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Aaron and Allison ANCKAERT. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother. She was predeceased by two children: Marc (1995) and Lieve (2004). Mary was a 50 year member of the Catholic Women's League of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Aylmer. She worked as a Red Cross Homemaker for a number of years after "retiring" from her work with Albert on the farm. Mary was a loving and devoted wife and mother who will always be remembered for her kindness and courage. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Catholic Women's League prayers will be held on Sunday at 4: 00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Dearly loved wife of William "Bill" SNETSELAAR and loved mother of Ryk and his wife Lisa SNETSELAAR and Joni and her husband Kevin KERVIN of Saint Thomas. Dear sister of Jacob and his wife Ethel HESLINGA of Saint Thomas, Frederik and his wife Mary HESLINGA of Mount Hope and Effie and her husband Frank LATTANZIO of Saint Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Megan and Mark SNETSELAAR and William, Jordan and Tyler KERVIN. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Liz was born in Arrem, Holland on November 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Jake and Sarah (IEDEMA) HESLINGA. She came to Canada in 1953. Liz owned and operated "Your Fish and Chips" with her husband Bill and son Ryk.
