At London Health Sciences Centre - University on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Arthur Gene WETTLAUFER of Ingersoll in his 54th year. Beloved companion of Ruth Anne NAU. Dear father of Kiel WETTLAUFER (Dawn CONNOLLY) of Baden, Nick WETTLAUFER (Crystal) and Stephanie WETTLAUFER, both of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Julia WETTLAUFER, Dylan SMITH, Hayley SMITH, and Cameron CONNOLLY. Dear brother of Lyle WETTLAUFER (Ellen), Dave WETTLAUFER (Cheryl), and Karl WETTLAUFER. Loved brother-in-law of Nancy EHGOET and Randy BALL, Ken and Pam SIEGNER, Donna and Mark BECKER, and Jim SIEGNER and Sharon LEWIS. Also missed by several nieces and nephews. BARRETT, Barbara Jeffres (née GIBBONS)
Peacefully at University Hospital, London, with her daughters at her side, Barbara Jeffres BARRETT (née GIBBONS) of London and formerly of British Columbia in her 85th year, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10th, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth BARRETT and predeceased by her brother Ronald GIBBONS. Loving mother of Deborah KUHAR (David) of Dorchester and Catherine LITWIN (John) of London. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christopher, Jordan, Kristyn and Slawek. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Barbara's life on Tuesday, March 18th from 5-9 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street (at Wavell), London, A private family interment will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in her memory are asked to consider the Dorchester Community Church and the Family Medicine/Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital. Thank you to all the outstanding staff working on the FM / Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital. SHEARD, Gail (née FERRISS)
December 28, 2007, loving and beloved wife of the late Terence SHEARD, C.B.E., Q.C., (1985.) Dear twin sister of the late Joan HATCH (H. Clifford HATCH d.,) daughter of the late Kathleen and Ezra Garth FERRISS of Walkerville, Ontario. Proud and cherished aunt of Clifford HATCH (Sylvie), Gail TODGHAM (Doug), Mary HATCH, and Richard HATCH (Patti.) She was the loving great aunt of Diane HATCH (Chris NAUDIE), Aurelie BRYCE (Doug), Clifford HATCH (Amanda), Anne and Paul TODGHAM (Mary Anne), Elizabeth and Michael STEPHENS, Johanna and Kristofer HATCH. Dearest friend of Helen PERREN. The family extends its thanks to Rolyne GALLARDO and Ella CAPUYAN for dedicated care during the past twenty-one months. After graduating from Walkerville Collegiate, Gail enrolled in University College, University of Toronto, where she won a Reuben Wells Leonard scholarship. She graduated in 1937 with an Honours B.A. in Modern Languages alongside her beloved twin sister Joan. Her business career included advertising, script-writing, and promotion in Toronto and Ottawa. Following her marriage to Terence SHEARD in 1950, Gail enjoyed an active life as a volunteer, serving 42 years as a member of the Volunteer Committee of the Art Gallery of Ontario, including 22 years as a docent in the adult education program. Gail was a member of the University Club of Toronto, and an Honorary Life member of Rosedale Golf Club, (where she was both Captain and President of the Ladies' section.) Gail SHEARD was a Founder Member of the Art Gallery of Ontario, and a Lifetime Member of King's College Circle, University of Toronto. Funeral services will be held at St. Simon-The-Apostle Anglican Church, 525 Bloor Street E. at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, followed by burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The family invites Friends to a reception at Rosedale Golf Club, 1901 Mt. Pleasant Rd. immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gail Sheard Endowment Fund for professional development of curatorial staff, Art Gallery of Ontario, 317 Dundas Street W., Toronto M5T 1Y2, the St. Simon-the-Apostle Anglican Church, 525 Bloor Street E., Toronto M4W 1J1, or a charity of your choice. NAUTA, Henry " Harry, Hidde"
Was called home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Born in Surhuizum, Friesland, Holland, on May 18, 1928. He came to Canada with his parents Jakop and Wytscke "Louise" (HOUWINK) NAUTA in June 1947 Henry farmed most of his life in Raleigh Township until his passing. He will be greatly missed by his partner and best friend of 22 years, Gail CASHMAN. Also sadly missed by brothers and sisters Abe and Hilda NAUTA of Chatham, Ralph and Margaret NAUTA, sister-in-law Lisa, all of Merlin, sister-in-law Marie NAUTA, Ronnie and John TIMMERMANS of Chatham, Joan and Gus SONNEVELD, John and Hermina NAUTA all of Blenheim, Hilda and Pete BERGHUIS of Ingersoll, Clara and Hank WOUDENBERG of London, Catherine and Marius VERBEEK of Ridgetown, and Ruth and Hunter ODEN of Rochester Hills, Michigan. Grandfather of Andrew, Marc, Matthew, Sarah, Julie Anne, Laura, Kelly, Nicole, and Marcia. Great-grandfather of Orion and Trinity also survived by sisters Frances WILLOCK and Anna McINTYRE, predeceased by his sister Williston (Bowley). Visitation will be held at Denning Bros.
