TRAAS, Nellie
At Chelsey Park Nursing Home on Monday, April 28, 2008, Nellie TRAAS of London in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late John TRAAS (1948.) Dear mother of Roy of Ajax, Carole and her late husband Bill MARKS of London and George of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Predeceased by one son Walter. Dear sister of Walter WESLOWSKI and his wife Anne of Ottawa and Mary MEDWID of Manitoba. Predeceased by one sister Ann HRYCHUK and four brothers Steve, Mike, Bill and Adam. Loved by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Christ Church, 138 Wellington Street, on Saturday May 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Greg SMITH officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Christ Church. Online condolences www.loganfh.ca A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Nellie TRAAS.

Suddenly, on April 1, 2008 at The Wexford in Toronto. Predeceased by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Gordon. Fondly remembered by son Art (Linda) of North Vancouver; daughter Susan (Rick SCOTT) of Ajax; grandchildren Gillian BURNETT; Adam, Kevin and Adrian SCOTT; Geoff TINKER and Matthew HRYCIW; six great-grandchildren brother Arnold BUDD; brother-in-law Harold of Ottawa and sisters-in-law Sylvia SLEMMESTAD and Dorothy BARNETT of the Greater Toronto Area. Born in St. Catharines on May 23, 1915, Nell graduated from Normal School in Hamilton and went on to teach at Edith Cavell Elementary School in St. Catharines before volunteering to serve with the Canadian Red Cross in London during World War 2. A committed and selfless volunteer until the age of 90, Nell was active in service to Saint_Jude's Anglican Church, the Canadian Red Cross, Bermondsey School, Centennial Hospital and The Wexford and sang in the choirs of St. George's in St. Catharines and Saint_Jude's (Wexford). She will be missed by many whose lives she touched. Visitation at Murray Newbigging Funeral Home, 733 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, on Thursday, April 3rd from 3: 00 p.m. to 5: 00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and at the Church of Saint_Jude (Wexford) on Friday, April 4th from 3: 00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral at Saint_Jude's Wexford, 10 Howarth Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario, on Saturday, April 5th at 2: 00 p.m. Reception to follow. Loving father of Nancy MUIR and husband John BAK of Lakeside, Linda SHARMAN and husband Rick of Kitchener, Paul SLATER of Lakeside, Janet SLATER and Peter George of London, Mary VAN DER PRYT and husband Robert of Dublin. Proud grandfather of Brian, Marie, Lisa (Shawn), Jennifer (Jason), Laura (Joshua) and great-grandchildren Abilene, Zachory, Emily and Alex. Dear brother-in-law of Bessie MILLS of Lakeside. Predeceased by his parents William SLATER and the former Eleanor KING, a son-in-law John MUIR, seven brothers and four sisters. Resting at the L.A. Peacefully with his family at his side, at Saint Marys Memorial Hospital, on Monday, May 12, 2008, Enos F. HUTTON of Saint Marys and formerly of Uniondale, in his 90th year. Loving husband and best friend of Eva (GREGORY) HUTTON for over 61 years. Dear father of Barry and wife Wendy of Seaforth and Ron of London. Proud Grampa to Aime of Calgary, Aren and her fiancee Daryl JENSON of Saint Marys, Kyle of Toronto and Brett of London. son of the late Joseph HUTTON and the former Jenny MAINPRIZE of Uniondale. Predeceased by brothers Wallace and Gordon. Enos will be missed by sisters-in-laws Eileen HUTTON, Myrtle WILLIAMS and Alma DIETRICH as well as many Friends, nieces and nephews. Enos was a proud World War 2 veteran, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Saint Marys Branch #236, a founding member and strong supporter of East Nissouri Union Church, serving as trustee, elder and clerk and a retired partner and Vice President of Hutton Transport Limited. He was Past Master of Doric-Corinthian Lodge No. 569, GRC, Past Patron of Saint Marys Chapter #121, Order of the Eastern Star, Past President of Stratford on Avon Shrine Club, member of Mocha Temple London and ROJ #56. Resting at the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel, 7 Water Street North, Saint Marys, visitation will be held on Wednesday May 14th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Saint Marys United Church, 85 Church Street South, Saint Marys on Thursday May 15th, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. conducted by Pastor Richard HRYNIW. Interment will follow at Saint Marys Cemetery. In Enos' memory memorial donations may be made to East Nissouri Union Church or Mocha Shrine P.O.T.S. would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Peacefully at the Wildwood Care Centre Saint Marys on Saturday July 19, 2008. Bessie L. (NEEVE) MILLS formerly of Lakeside age 91 yrs. Beloved wife of the late Wm. Harvey MILLS (1995.) Dear sister of Margaret SLATER of Saint Marys, Dear sister-in-law of Betty MILLS of Lakeside. Sadly missed by many nieces nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Robert NEEVE and the former Cathleen ATTRIDGE, sisters Ethel LANG, Lalie ATCHISON, Audrey GAISER and a brother Frank NEEVE. The late Bessie MILLS will rest at the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel, 7 Water St. N., Saint Marys on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral Service will be held on Tuesday July 22, 2008 at 11.00 a.m. with Pastor Richard HRYNIW officiating.
