BYERS, Marilyn (née MADILL)
(December 19, 1954-February 26, 2008)
It is with great sadness that we announce that Marilyn BYERS has passed away, following a long battle with cancer. Marilyn died peacefully at home in Campbell River, British Columbia, on February 26, 2008, with Gord and Taffy by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Lorne MADILL and her brother, Dennis MADILL. Marliyn is survived by her loving partner, Gordon IRELAND; her three sons, Jason (Sherri,) Jaret (Aimee) and Josh (Tara); Gordon's daughters, Crystal and Laicie; grandchildren, Braeden, Bradley, Felicity and Rylee. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen and (Brian EBEL,) Cathy (Don KIVELL,) Bryan (Gail) and Bill (Sandy;) her first husband, Jeff BYERS; many nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia and her special Friends, Verna, Lorne, Louise, all the Staff of Cheries and Altech, Larry, Colleen, Albert, Colleen and many many Friends. Marilyn was born in Perth, Ontario on December 19, 1954, into a family of 6 children. She started a hairdressing career in Ontario before marrying Jeff BYERS. Together with their 3 sons, they settled in Campbell River in 1980. Marilyn continued to work in her career and eventually owned her own business in Campbell River. Marilyn enjoyed watching her boys in their passions of music, sports and family. She was always the biggest fan. She later learned to enjoy travelling with Gord and loved fishing and boating with Gord and Taffy. They enjoyed entertaining in their home and with their Friends and family. Marilyn lived her life one day at a time and was a friend of Bill W. A Service to Celebrate Marilyn's Life will be held at Sutton's Funeral Home, 502 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River, British Columbia, on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Doctor John Krell officiating. A Reception will follow the Service at the Elks Hall, adjacent to Sutton's. Cremation entrusted to Mission Hill Crematorium. KING, Cluny
Peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Village of Erin Meadows, Mississauga, at the age of 83. Born in New Bonaventure, Newfoundland, Cluny, moved from Saint_John's to Toronto in 1965 with his wife and 6 children. Predeceased by his loving wife Ruth (née OSMOND) 1988 and his second wife, Clara (née CROZIER) 2007. Dear father of Heather ATHAWES and her husband Ted, Geoff KING and his wife Susan, Ken KING and his wife Linda, Carol EBELS and her husband Michael, Jennifer Lombardi and her husband Luciano, Joy NYLAND and her husband Ron. Cluny will be lovingly remembered by his 12 grandchildren and his brother Doctor Everard KING of Saint_John's, Newfoundland. Visitation at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston on Sunday, March 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 17 from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a Service to celebrate Cluny's life at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park Cemetery. Deep appreciation to the staff of the Village of Erin Meadows for their devoted and loving care. Donations to the Oakwood Charitable Foundation or World Vision would be appreciated.

HUX, Anna May (née GOLDHAWK)
A resident of Ridgetown and formerly of Aldborough Township, Anna HUX passed away in her sleep at the Village Retirement Residence on Wednesday morning, June 4, a week after her 84th birthday. Born in Ridgetown, the daughter of Albert James GOLDHAWK and Mary Ann EBERLE. Beloved wife of the late Martin HUX (1971,) mother of Allan HUX and Denise GRAHAM of Toronto, and grandmother of Ryan HUX. She is predeceased by her sisters Frances SIMPSON (Harvey,) Mary GOLDHAWK, Edith Withers (David) and brothers Ernest (Dorothy), William, Albert and Donald GOLDHAWK. She will be deeply missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph (Lois), Lyle (Margaret), Eberle (Elizabeth), Jean GOLDHAWK, Dorothy HUGHES (Cam,) Marie GOLDHAWK, Phyllis HUX (John) and Norma HUX (Arthur,) and by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many wonderful Friends in Ridgetown and Rodney. Special thanks to her nieces Margaret Ann GRANKEN and Kelly MacMILLAN, Doctor John BUTTON, Doctor Elizabeth HADDAD, and all the wonderful staff at the Village Retirement Residence for their support during her two year battle with cancer. Ann worked at P.D. Bates, Ridgetown, prior to marrying Martin HUX in 1947. She supported Mart in the Miller and Hux Poultry Farm along with her life-long friend, Donna MILLER and her husband, Walter, Martin's first cousin. Later she also worked as a legal secretary in West Lorne and Rodney. After the death of her husband, she returned to Ridgetown where she worked for six years at the Ridgetown Agricultural College as a house-mother in the girls' residence. The HUX and GOLDHAWK families will receive visitors at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7: 00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7 at 2: 00 p.m. followed by a reception for family and Friends in the Friendship Hall of Erie Street United Church. Tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Magnetic Resonance Imager Campaign or to Erie Street United Church. At Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Monday June 9, 2008, David Michael Brandon WALLER of Appin, in his 26th year. Beloved husband of Erin (EBERLE) WALLER and proud and devoted father of Payton and Greyson. Loving son of Dave and Nancy WALLER of Saint Thomas. Dear brother of Kyla (Tim) NELHAMS, Tracy (Sean) WRIGHT and grand_son of Lillian WALLER. Loved by his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Sandy EBERLE of Glencoe and his brother-in-law Jeff (Terri) EBERLE. Special uncle to Mackenzie, Connor, Jordyn, Wesley, Reegan and Sienna.
