GHEDA, Joseph
Peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and friend of Claudia (nee HARRIS.) Loving " Dad" of Jason (wife Mariline) and Caroline. Survived by brother Germano and sisters Palmira, Nina, Pierina and their families. Predeceased by Maria and Franca. Joe will be sadly missed by his extended family and Friends. The family will receive Friends at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre, 3164 Ninth Line (Dundas/403) in Oakville, 905-257-8822 on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Glen Oaks Chapel on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 11: 30 a.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, June 13th, 2005. Maxwell James COLE of R.R.#1 Shallow Lake (Parkhead) in his 17th year. Cherished son of Jim and Janice (ne DICK.) Devoted brother of Erin, at home. Much loved grand_son of Maxine and Jim COLE, of R.R.#1 Annan, Marie and Vic DICK, of Leamington and great-grand_son of Dorothy COLE, of Shallow Lake. Special nephew of Jamie and Rob GREVE, of Owen Sound; Tim and Maddalena COLE, of Courtice; Teresa and Stuart GHENT, of Mount Forest and Jerry DICK, of Saint John's, Newfoundland. Cousin of Bobbie, Keegan, Samantha, Ben, Danielle, Cole and Jordyn. Sadly missed by many great-aunts and uncles. Predeceased by his great-grandparents Abe and Tina DICK, Donald COLE, and Phyllis and Max McKINNON and his uncle Leonard DICK. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving, compassionate and caring spirit. "Walking on the Sunny Side of Life." Friends may call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home and Chapel on Thursday from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m.. A Celebration of Max's Life will be conducted from Shallow Lake Community Church on Friday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert GATES officiating. Interment in Boyd Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Max Cole Bursary for Physically Challenged Youth or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. McGHIE, Dr. Thomas George
Though reluctant to leave us so soon, Dr. Thomas George McGHIE peacefully left this earth, leaving behind his loving wife and best friend Dr. Margrieta Edels McGHIE, his children whom he cherished, Loree KAY and her husband Steve; Brad McGHIE and his wife Linda; John Paul McGHIE and his wife Catherine; and Susan BALDWIN and her husband Charles. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Adam, Rachel, Karly, James, Charlie, Spencer and Simon. Tom will also be sadly missed by the Edels family, and his faithful companion, his dog, Dregs. After 68 Christmas mornings, Tom left us on Christmas Day, twelve days after being diagnosed with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Janet WILSON, Dr. Albert ANNEN, Dr. Paul MAROTTA, Dr. Cam GHENT, the Palliative Care Teams, the forth floor doctors and staff at London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital for their professionalism and compassion. Tom was a devoted family physician for over 40 years. A celebration of Tom's life will take place with visitation Wednesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, and a memorial service on Thursday, December 29th, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Tom are asked to consider the Multi Organ Transplant Service. MATTHYNSSENS, Blanche (formerly VERSTRAETEN)
Blanche (VERSTRAETEN) MATTHYNSSENS (Delhi) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 13, 2005, in her 94th year. Blanche was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 17th, 1911. She was a member of the Saint Mary's Church, the C.W.L., Tillsonburg, and Sacred Heart Church, Langton and also a member of the Delhi Belgian Club. Together with her husband Albert, she farmed tobacco for several years at R.R.#1 Delhi.
Loving mother and mother-in-law of: Diana and Nol GHESQUIERE, Tillsonburg; Anita and Dr. David HILLNER, Tillsonburg and Ginny VERSTRAETEN, South River. Blanche was proud to be called "Meme" by her grandchildren Dan and Liz VERSTRAETEN, Marc VERSTRAETEN and Liz, Linda and Gary MATTAN, Wendy and David HOLMES, Michael and Deana GHESQUIERE, Marc and Jennifer HILLNER, Bonnie and Billy GAGNON and Tammy GODDEN and Roger. Also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Abel VAN DE VYVER and Clementina BLANCQUAERT and by her first husband Roger VERSTRAETEN (1945,) her second husband Albert MATTHYNSSENS (1990) and recently by her son Marcel VERSTRAETEN (February 4, 2005); she was also predeceased by her four sisters: Aline (Jean) VAN DEN BROECK, Yvonne (Albert) MICHIELSON, Margaret (Philemon) BOEL, Elza (Albert) BRAECKE and a niece Rosita VERBOVEN. Friends and relatives are welcome to meet with the family on Tuesday from 2: 30-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (842-4238). C.W.L. Irene was born in Glencoe on September 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Finlay and Catherine (MARKS) SMITH. She worked at Clarke Equipment from 1967-1970 and then for Sears. She was a member of Saint John's Anglican Church, Flower City Chapter 91 of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, London Omar Temple 111 (Past Queen 1987) and a member of the Glana Rebecca Lodge 385 Glanworth. She was also a member of the Senior Centre Walk Fit Program. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow, with burial of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery.
