Sportsman, athlete, artisan, naturalist, and raconteur extraordinaire. After a valiant battle with cancer fought with dignity and strength, Budd passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones. Survived by Rita, his wife, best friend and rock of 53 years, devoted father and pal to Wendy, Randy (Michelle), Karin (Harry), and Arlene (Tony), cherished Poppa of John, Tyler, Nikki, Cassidy, Chris, and Jacques, son-in-law of Elizabeth DAWSON, brother to June (Art), Joe (Audrey), George (Faith), and Ruth (Gary), brother-in-law of Anne (Bill), Bette (John), Barbara (Cal), Alan (Margaret), Alec (Martha), Tommy (Wilma), Irene (Bobby), and Alexis (Daryl). The Whelan Family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. ATTALLA, Dr. THORNLOE, Dr. GAPSKI, the 4th floor staff at Trillium Health Centre and Budd's special caregivers, Linda, Gerda and Lonia for their kindness, compassion and professionalism. Until the end, Budd kept his trademark sense of humour and wit, which will be missed by all. Wife of the late Carmen AGIUS and mother of the late Josette. Dear sister of Mary DUNLEA of London. Predeceased by her sisters Josie ATTARD and Carmen CASSAR. Connie will be missed by her nephew Joe ATTARD of London, her niece Margie EATON of Belmont as well as by numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was as much a 'Mom' as anyone. The funeral service will be conducted at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, (2 blocks north of Oxford) on Saturday, January 29th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. In loving memory of our father Mario George ATTARD, husband to his beloved wife Rose Hélène ATTARD, who passed away five years ago. His three daughters, Serena, Sharlayne and Carlea and five grandchildren, Dayton, Antanee, Helen, Charlie and Rita and two great-grandchildren will miss him dearly. Mario has been battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis for the past year and eventually lost his battle on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the North York General Hospital. A private viewing will take place for the immediate family and then he will be cremated shortly after. There will be a Mass remembering him at St. Timothy's Catholic Church located at 21 Leith Hill Road, Toronto on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. and a reception afterwards downstairs. We want to thank the A.L.S. Society for all their help in our difficult time and all the doctors, nurses and health care workers. At the request of the family, donations may be made to the A.L.S. Went peacefully and into his Lord's presence on June 14, 2005 in his ninety-eighth year at Ottawa Grace Manor. Predeceased by his first wife Dollie (GOSS,) his second wife Grace (ATTERBURY,) his sister Dora (REUCASSEL) and his brother Owen. Dear father of Tom (Jessie), Peter (Anna-Lise), Richard (Catherine) and loving grandfather of Sarah, Mark, Andrew and Emily. Fondly remembered by Grace's daughters Joan COLQUHOUN, Jean MacDONELL and Judy WOODS. The textile industry was Tom's chosen vocation, first in Toronto and then as plant manager at Glenayr (Kitten) Knit Ltd., in Lanark, from 1945 until 1972. The family wish to thank and acknowledge the staff of The Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor who gave loving and attentive care over the past several years; also to the staff at Perth Community Care where Tom was a resident prior to his move to Ottawa. "Grammy" will be missed by her grandchildren Alainna, Andrew, Emily and Ty. Sharon is survived by her sisters Kay SWATRIDGE and her husband Chuck of Ingersoll, Pat SCHNEIDER of Tillsonburg, her brother Ron MORAN and his wife Mary of Sarnia, her sister-in-law Donna MORAN of Ingersoll and her aunt Erma RODGERS of Georgetown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon was predeceased by her beloved son Danny and daughter Lisa, her mother Evelyn, her father Frank, her brother Jim, her brother-in-law Johnny and many other relatives.
