Suddenly on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 of the General and Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 80. Gladys, beloved wife of the late Arthur (1990.) Loving mother of Dr. L. Alan PETTS and his wife Susan of Angus, Brian PETTS and his wife Rose of Borne and the late Gordon. Dear grandmother of Roxonno. Anthony Lee Michael, Barbara, Sherry, Angie and great-grandmother of five. Also survived by her siblings Bob McKINSTRY Esther LINDSAY and Wilma KRAWCHUK. KRAWCHUK, Gabrielle Regina (née DURGENSKY)
Died on October 4, 2005, in her 94th year. Survived by her son Ted (Lorna), granddaughters Carolyn and Meg, and a daughter Claudia (Terence CORCORAN.) Predeceased in 1974 by her husband Joseph KRAWCHUK. Born Gabrielle DURGENSKY in Bratslav, Ukraine on April 5, 1912, she immigrated to Canada in 1927 with her mother Marianna (ZAVATSKA) to be reunited with her father, Jacob DURGENSKY who had preceded them. The family settled in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and then Larder Lake where Gabrielle married, raised her children and spent much of her adult life. In 1984, Gabrielle moved to Toronto where she lived for 17 years as a member of the St. Demetrius community on LaRose Avenue and then, as her health began to fail, for 4 years being kindly cared for at the West Park Long Term Care Centre. The funeral service will be held at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, 1399 Bayview Avenue on Tuesday, October 11th from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with the service starting at 1 o'clock. Reception to follow. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the West Park Health Centre Foundation, 82 Buttonwood Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M6M 2J5.

At Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, February 9th, 2005, after a brief, intense illness, Charles HOOK, of Hastings, formerly of Toronto, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Joan for over 35 years, with stepchildren Brad NEWMAN (Jeiley,) Jan VAN DER REEST (Gary), Barbara LEGGE (Max), and daughter-in-law Teresa KRAWCZYK/ NEWMAN. His grandchildren are Kevin, Ryan (Margo,) Darek, Lara, Courtney, Jason, Dylan, Jared and Daniel. Predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law, Jeff NEWMAN. Charles served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940-1945. He was a 30 year former employee of the City of Toronto City Hall Health Department (Accounting). He was an avid sports fan, card player, ice skater, storyteller, and loved to chat with all who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed and is loved by all. A special thank you to Dr. WILKIN, Dr. McMILLAN, Dr. ROWSOM and the Intensive Care Unit staff of Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
