Patricia Rose SCHMIDT of Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, January 27, 2005, in her 53rd year. Born in Stratford, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dianne (MORRIS) FARRELL. Wife of Bruce SCHMIDT of R.R.#1, New Hamburg. Beloved and cherished mother of Christopher SCHMIDT and Pamela SCHMIDT both of Stratford. Dear sister of James DRISCOLL and wife Mary of Tory Hill, Ontario, Ted DRISCOLL of Mission City, British Columbia and Robert FARRELL of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dear daughter-in-law of Wallace and Marie SCHMIDT of Stratford. Dear sister-in-law of Grace and Keith LEIS of R.R.#1, New Hamburg, Diane and Larry ZOELLER of Shakespeare, Peter and Dawn SCHMIDT of R.R.#4, Stratford and Paul and Liz SCHMIDT of R.R.#1, Gadshill. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son Dale SCHMIDT on August 28, 1999 and a nephew Kevin LEIS. Taken from us far too soon, on Sunday, June 12th, 2005, William (Bill) George LOWTHIAN in his 52nd year at Victoria Hospital. Bill leaves behind his best friend and wife of 32 years, Cathy, and their loving children Erica (Jason) FARRELL and Kyle (Sarah) LOWTHIAN. He is survived by his beloved mother Mary LOWTHIAN and sister Gayle. Bill is predeceased by his father Richard LOWTHIAN and brother Paul. Bill will be sadly missed by many extended family members and Friends. For 33 years he excelled as a diesel mechanic earning great respect from all who had the privilege to work with him. Dear sister of Barbara and her husband John POWER of Kincardine and sister of Caroline GLENN of Toronto, Brian POPP of Dutton, Martin POPP of London, Sandra FARRELL of Toronto, Mark EBEL of Wiarton, Jeff EBEL of Midland. Bonnie was born in Saint Thomas on September 20, 1955, the daughter of Fred ZIMMER and his wife Keitha of Wiarton and Betty POPP and her husband Herman of Dutton. Daughter-in-law of Doreen O'NEILL of Saint Thomas. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Bonnie worked over 30 years at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, 25 years as a nurse and the past 5 years in housekeeping. She was a member of Saint Anne's Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Thursday morning and then to Saint Anne's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. At Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus on Saturday, September 3, 2005 in her 82nd year. Alma was born on March 15, 1924 to Michael and Catherine (FARRELL) HEFFERNAN. She was the eighth of ten children. Alma married Joseph RAFTIS, the son of Joseph and Rose (KAIN) RAFTIS, on October 6, 1945. Alma and Joseph journeyed together for 50 years. Joseph predeceased her on February 27, 1996. Alma and Joseph were blessed with 10 children - Sister Paula Maria (Rosella), Carmel D.C.J. of St. Catherines, Michael (Theresa) of Sherwood Park, Patrick (Eliana) of Hillsdale, Ernie (Livia) of London, Anna-Marie (Bill) of Ayton, Mary of Arthur, Frank (Jane) of Surrey, England, Ed (Michelle) of Barrie, Mark of London and Paul of Edmonton. Cherished grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 2. Survived by her brothers Ken of Caledon, Len (Barb) of Mississauga and sister Hilda (Austin) LEHMAN of Toronto. Also by sisters-in-law Marcy PIGNATELLE of Georgetown and Genny PHILLIPS of Toronto. Sadly missed by her many relatives and Friends. She was the daughter of the late Mike and Mary (DONAHUE) McMANUS, and grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia; she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, St. Francis Xavier University ('50) and a Bachelor of Library Science degree, McGill University ('52.) She leaves her sisters, Sheila HALIBURTON (Halifax,) Elizabeth McCARTY (Falmouth, Massachusetts.,) and Patricia WOODFORD (Baddeck, Nova Scotia,) and was pre-deceased by her brother, Jim McMANUS, and her sister, Eileen McMANUS. On Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at 85 years of age. Lois was the wife of the late Lawrence DAVIS (May 08, 1980). She was step-mother to Robert and his wife Donna, Phillip and his wife Jessica all of Toronto and Daphne and her husband Donald OLYNICK of St. Catharines. Nana to Mary Louise, Danielle, Geneya and Bethany. Special cousin to Lorraine and her husband Martin GLEBE of Toronto. Lois was Godmother to Margaret and her husband Michael HOPWOOD of West Vancouver, B.C.. She was a former volunteer with the Red Cross at Sunnybrook Hospital along with holding the post of Past President of the volunteer Committee and Member, Board of Directors for the Art Gallery of Peterborough. In keeping with Lois' wishes a funeral service will be held at 11: 00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 235 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, on Monday, July 4, 2005. Rod HUNGERFORD died peacefully at the age of 91 at his home in Vancouver, British Columbia on Saturday, December 24, 2005. He was born in London, Ontario on September 12 1914, and was predeceased by his parents Maude and Walter, his brothers Becher, Jack, Donnington, and George, and his sisters Farleigh and Helena. He sadly leaves behind his wife of over 62 years, Mary (née FARRELL,) and his children and grandchildren - George (Jane), Geordie, Michael, Andrew and Janie; Robert (Dagmar), Tara, Jessica, Jonathon (deceased) and Richard; Mary (Hugh MATTHEWS,) Jamie, Danny, Elizabeth and Will; John (Debbie), Caitlin, Briana, and Matthew; Catherine (Joe MARINO,) Rebecca and Steven; and his dog Charlie. A prominent local business and community leader for over 60 years, he had many business colleagues and Friends around the world. He was always inquisitive and supportive, contributing to his family and all those associated with him. He was a listener, thinker and doer throughout his life; living each day to the fullest. "Grandie" followed with enthusiasm and pride all of his children's and grandchildren's achievements. Family and Friends will always fondly remember "The Farm", his love for the countryside and the wonderful life he shared with "Mamie". Peacefully, on November 16, 2005, Catherine FARRELL, of Mississauga succumbed to brain cancer. Mom battled her disease with endless strength and faith, never allowing it to affect her amazing spirit. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Mom returned home regularly ensuring she maintained strong ties with family. Predeceased by parents Joe and Mary MacINTYRE (née Campbell.) Survived by husband Jim. Devoted and loving mother to Joe (Lisa), Jimmy (Nancy), Mary, Cathy (Duane). Loving Nan to Ryan, Meaghan, Kyle, Brandon, Robyn and Alex.
