Loving mother of Janice and her husband Jay SLOANES and Leanne and her husband Tim FERRI. Loved grandmother of Hayley, Nicole, Karly and Christopher. Daughter of the late George and Reta ASH. Dear sister of Keith, Ivan, Doreen, Ruth, Grant and the late Ferna and Edna. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and Friends. Resting at the Ward Funeral Home ''Brampton Chapel,'' 52 Main St. S. (Hwy. 10), Brampton from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Service in the Chapel Monday 2: 30 p.m. Interment Meadowvale Cemetery.

RING, Ernest J. -- Passed away peacefully, after a long illness at his home in Magnetawan on Friday, December 13, 2002. Ernest J. RING in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Elsie (née WYLIE.) Dear father of Laura WIESKE (John) of London, Kathryn RING of Toronto, James of Vancouver, British Columbia and Jennifer DESCHAMPS (Vince) of Harrow. Loving grandfather of Melissa WIESKE and Caleb DESCHAMPS. Survived by sisters Audrey BRYANT and Doris ASHBEE (John) both of Huntsville. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel of the Dempster-Allair Funeral Home in Burks Falls commencing at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2002. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to the Burks Falls and District Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.

BURTON, Winnifred Elizabeth (née ASHBRIDGE) -- Peacefully, in Toronto, on December 18, 2002. Born on March 31, 1907 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba to Florence Mabel and Wellington Thomas ASHBRIDGE. Predeceased by her loving husband Carman Edgar BURTON and by her beloved sister, Dorothy BULLEN. Cherished stepmother of Douglas and Linda BURTON of Mount Hope. Dear grandmother to Bruce and Linda, Murray and Donna, and Allan. Dear great-grandmother Betty to Devan and Kelsey. Betty will also be fondly remembered by her cousins and their families. Betty was a talented musician. She was much loved by family and Friends. Services to be held at Kew Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Avenue, (just North of Queen St. E.) on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 2: 00 o'clock. MUSTARD, Marian Elizabeth (née DRANE) -- May 22, 1930 - December 25, 2002 Passed away suddenly but with great grace at her home in Toronto, in the arms of her husband of 39 years, Gordon Alexander MUSTARD. Schooled at the Ontario College of Art, Marian was, for 30 years, Art Director and Editorial Designer on such various publications as Chatelaine, Flare, Maclean's and The Financial Post. She was also the founding Art Director of City And Country Home magazine. During her business career, she won numerous awards for design and illustration. On her official retirement, Marian devoted herself to her painting through classes with John LEONARD and proudly achieved her chop in Sumi-e at the Japanese Cultural Centre. Her award-winning paintings grace walls throughout the country. She was a gifted artist and a life-long student of Egyptology, philosophy, art, and every aspect of the often complicated, but never dull, world around her. Marian delighted in discovering the joy in everything and everyone she met. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her husband, her children, Judi and Stan ASHBY, John and Mary LAWSON, Michelle and Stephen SMYTH, her grandchildren, Alysa and Harold KIM, David ASHBY, Megan and Patrick LUCKIE, Jennifer DOLAN, Paul DOLAN, Ryan LAWSON, Mac LAWSON, Connor SMYTH and Ian SMYTH, her first great-grandchild, Nicolas LUCKIE, and her brothers and sisters, Bruce and June DRANE, Norma WILLS and Irene and Jerome MOREL. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 29. Survived by sisters Joyce RUCK, Genevieve WILLIAMS, Muriel HUNT, Lydia ASHE and Shirley WILLIAMS. Loving grandmother of Terrie, Shayne, Missy, Heather and Robbie; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter. Predeceased by 1 daughter Millicent, 2 sisters and 7 brothers. In loving memory of Vida Helena McGOVERN who passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Manitoulin Health Centre at the age of 72 years.
Her children brought her joy: Bonnie (predeceased), Heather (husband Andrew EADIE predeceased) of Little Current, Judy PYNTER of Welland, Lee (husband Jack ASHLEY) of Little Current, and Meeka (husband Andrew WHITE/WHYTE) of Uxbridge.
To her delight ten grandchildren: Allan (predeceased), Scott, Bonnie, Susan, Lloyd, Laurie, Jennifer, Stephen, April and Amy. Proud great grandmother of Stacy, Allan, April, Lindsay and Benjamin. Vida was one of nine children born to Frank and Henrietta McGOVERN: Leota McIVOR, Blossom ALMES, Mary Ann CHILDERHOSE, Max McGOVERN. Predeceased by Grant, Morris, Delbert and Helen. At Vida's request there will be no services. Cremation. Arrangements in care of Island Funeral Home.
