An expanse of over 500,000 square kms, only holds a quarter of a million people.

Many more have passed this way by water, rail, roads, while on treck to western Canada.

Our rich natural resources lured untold numbers seeking fortunes in furs and gold.

Though many didn't stay, much of their genealogical record was preserved.

Their passage is noted in many areas of our varied history.
