"To encourage, assist and bring together all those interested in the pursuit of family history"

Welcome to the Oxford County Branch
of the Ontario Genealogical Society

The Oxford Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society was founded in 1979 and is dedicated to supporting and promoting genealogical research in Oxford County. We focus on collecting and preserving information that will be useful for anyone doing research on ancestors from Oxford County.

Our members volunteer their time to maintain and operate a research library with a large and growing collection of resources and reference material on family and local history. It is located in the "Oxford County Archives building" located at 12 Vine street in Beachville. The research library is a non-lending, private library that is open to the general public Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are on hand to assist with locating material and providing instruction on the use of equipment
