enumerator's remarks column 60 - general remarks: "There is a large area of good land for settlement on Trading Lake of the Muskoka, and in the vicinity of the Maganettawa. The entrance to it will be through the Bobcaygeon and Nipissing Road. Only four persons except Indians are yet located there. Ere another census, this country will turn out its thousands. Several Indians have houses and farms partially cleared on Trading Lake. They raised last year about 450 bushels of potatoes and 15 bushels corn. The corn all got ripe, and had a good yield. I entered the Indians in their own list. Thew had left their houses and gone to hunt. Some had gone to Lake Simcoe. They are the Chippawas whose village is Romah on Lake Simcoe."
