WROBEL, Ric (1959-2008)
It is with great sadness that the family of Ric WROBEL announces that on April 2nd, 2008, Ric of Edmonton passed away suddenly in the arms of his wife Cindy while travelling in Xian, China with family and Friends. Ric is lovingly survived by his wife Cindy and his daughters Jennifer and Allannah, his Edmonton family mother-in-law Faye MULEK, brother-in-law Dale MULEK and his wife Sharon, sister-in-law Linda and her husband Zenek BEREZNICKI and their daughter Samantha; his family in London, Ontario; brother Stan and Ann WROBEL and their children Janina, Jacob, Karol, and their families; his sister Gena and Ted GRYN and their children, Teresa, Stephanie and Christina and their families; his younger brother Stephen WROBEL and his wife Margaret ZDULSKI and his stepmother Josephine WROBEL; and his special best friend Don GALENZOSKI and his wife Karen and their children Krista and Jon as well as many Friends and colleagues. Ric was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jadwiga WROBEL. In our hearts he will always be cherished, and loved in our memory. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 12: 30 p.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Church, located at 9820-148 Street, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ric may be made to the Kopernik Polish Heritage Society, #107, 4990 - 92 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6B 2V4; the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9, or a charity of one's choice. At Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, Michael "Mike" SADOWSKI in his 88th year. Beloved brother of Helen DRAGUN. Dear uncle of Stanley KACZANOWSKI (Virginia,) Mary ZDULSKI (Tom) and John DRAGUN (Karen.) Predeceased by his niece Irene GORSKI. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Thursday from 6: 00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church on Friday at 10: 00 a.m. Interment Saint Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 8: 00 p.m. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff of Meadow Park Nursing Home for their many years of wonderful care.

SMITH, Douglas Ross
At his residence on Tuesday July 15, 2008. Douglas Ross SMITH of Embro in his 55th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Diane SMITH (née CRAIG.) Devoted and much loved father of Colin and Kimberly SMITH. Dear son of Jean SMITH and her late husband Ross and son-in-law of Laverne and Doris CRAIG, all of Embro. Loved brother of Mary ZDZIERAK and her husband Henry of Woodstock, brother-in-law of Terry CRAIG and his wife Gwen of Woodstock, Debbie BAKER and her husband Dave and Judy HAYWARD and her husband Scott, all of Embro. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends. Predeceased by his infant brother Robert SMITH. Doug served as Captain of the Embro Fire Department for over 30 years, was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge - Thistle #250, was on the board of Stewards at Knox United Church in Embro and sat on the Embro Cemetery Board. Doug was owner/operator of his family run business; Zorra Highland Bus lines for over 40 years and is presently the manager of Elgie Bus Lines in London for the Embro and Woodstock area. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday July 18, 20080 from 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday July 19, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Knox United Church in Embro on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Judy CAMPBELL officiating. Interment in the North Embro Cemetery. Contributions to the Embro Firefighters Association Rescue Fund would be appreciated.
