In her 86th year with her family by her side passed peacefully at Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home on April 18th, 2008. She will join, in heaven, her husband Lyman FAGE and infant son Bobby. Also, her parents Linnie and Crandall PATTERSON of Joggins, Nova Scotia, brothers Brenton and Stanley and sisters Alice, and Dolly. Loving mother of sons Doug FAGE (Evelyn) of Florida, Alan FAGE (Andrea) of Abbotsford, British Columbia. Mother-in-law of Lynn BAINES (Mike) of London, Ontario. Loving grandmother of Jeff, Kim, Mark, Natasha and Mark. Great-grandmother to Ashley, Devon and Jake. Survived by sisters Lynne FOX (Bill) of London, Ontario and Julia ALLABY of Fredericton, New Brunswick and brothers Alder PATTERSON of Springhill, Nova Scotia, Crandall PATTERSON and Bobby PATTERSON both of Toronto, Ontario. Also Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lu's family would like to thank the nursing and support staff of Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home for their excellent care. Lu will be cremated and a memorial service will take place at a later date.

Born in Saugeen Township, Ontario on Friday, February 26, 1937, passed away at Wingham and District Hospital, North Huron (Wingham), Ontario on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in her 71st year. The former Doris CAMPBELL, beloved wife of the late Harold EDGAR who predeceased her in 2005. Dear mother of Ernie and Theresa ALBERT of Wingham, Diane and Percy HOLMES of Brampton, Mike and Barb ALBERT of Brussels, Rodney and Colleen McCULLOCH of Elmwood, Harold and Venita McCULLOCH of Dundalk, Roland and Cherie McCULLOCH of Huron Park and Robert and Tanna ALBERT of Hanover. Sister of Ruth McCULLOCH, Margaret WEBER, Martha McCULLOCH and John CAMPBELL. Also survived by 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Dorothy CAMPBELL, son William Joseph ALBERT, four brothers and one sister. The visitation was held at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Wednesday, February 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Wayne B. BEAMER officiating. The interment was in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow, Ontario.

STEPHENS, William " Bill" Sykes
William " Bill" Sykes STEPHENS died on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 after a brief illness at Markdale Hospital. Bill was born in Osprey Township on December 15, 1920. He was the youngest son of Mary and Dougald STEPHENS. In 1943 he married Hazel WILKINSON and they lived in Feversham and Dundalk before moving to the 8th line of Artemesia.
Bill is survived by his wife Hazel, his daughters Helen and her husband Wayne MERRIFIELD and Jean and her husband Lorne McCAULEY. He was a dear grandfather to Scott (Cynthia) MERRIFIELD, Stephen (Vicki) MERRIFIELD, Dale (Kelly MERRIFIELD, Amy (Bob) HOARE and Tom (Sarah) McCAULEY. He will be loved and remembered by his 14 great-grandchildren Sarah, Mitchell, Nathan, Madeline, Mackenzie, Marissa, Brady, Curtis, Jacob and Kirstin MERRIFIELD; Connor and Peyton McCAULEY; Lauren and William HOARE.
Brother-in-law of Dolly STEPHENS and Alice STEPHENS, Florence and Garnet HAMILTON and Dorothy and Ted McCULLOCH. Bill will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Tom, Lloyd and John.
Bill took an active part in community and church life. He was an electrician with his brother John in Dundalk for several years before moving to the farm where he dairy-farmed with Hazel for 27 years.
Bill was a member of Gentle Shepherd Community Church where a largely attended funeral service took place on Saturday, June 28, 2008. The funeral service was conducted by the Reverend Don PRINCE with tributes by Dale MERRIFIELD, Amy McCAULEY- HOARE, Sarah MERRIFIELD and Reverend Adam NICKEL.
Interment was at Flesherton Cemetery.

Earl Nelson HEWITSON, formerly of R.R.#5 Owen Sound, passed away on Sunday, March 9th, 2008, at Lee Manor, in his 87th year. Husband of Edna HEWITSON (née HALL,) for sixty-one years. Father of Wayne and his wife Sharen, of Walter's Falls, his children, Sandra (Will) Slot and children, Ryan, Niklas, Kayteline, Karissa and Mariah, of Shallow Lake, Susan (Doug) HYDE, their sons, Benjamin and Noah, of Kingston and Stephen HEWITSON and his fiancé, Sarah ASHLEY, of Toronto. Also, father of Brenda MacDONALD, her daughters, Miranda (Jon) MILLER, their sons, Jackson and Michael, of Tara, Melissa MacDONALD, of London and Jamie Lyn (Ben) WILDER and son, Bradley, of Owen Sound. beloved husband Charlie (1997). Loved mother of Dianna and Martha of
Little Current, Melville and Lois of McKerrow, Donald and Carrie of
Little Current, and Larry and Heather of Espanola. Dear grandma of Judy,
David, Tanya, Nathan, and Melissa, and great-grandmother of Matteus and
Mara. Survived by brother Mervin and Muriel Drolet of Hamilton, and

After a lifetime of serving her Lord by her many works at Trinity Lutheran Church, and her devotion to her family, Jeanne Dorothy Amelia HOLME (PAETZ,) answered her Lord's call after a valiant battle with cancer on March 7th, 2008. Loved and remembered by her husband Robert of 57 years, along with their daughters Deborah HOLME and Heather and Doug ELLIS. Her spirit will be carried on in her grandchildren Sarah and Cameron GRIFFIN, Naomi and Gregory McCULLOCH and her cherished great-grand_son Tavis. Always close to her heart are her siblings Robert and Lucille PAETZ, Gary and the late Carol TANNER, Susan PAETZ, Eloise KARL and her much thought-of nieces and nephews. Lawyer, company president, golfer, world traveller, bank director. Born March 24, 1909, in Toronto. Died August 18, 2007, in Toronto of old age, aged 98.
When Marie WILSON married R.J.P. McCULLOCH six decades ago, our family became acquainted with a wonderful and highly educated woman who seemed a combination of fairy princess and liberated modern businesswoman.
Marie was an only child, born in Toronto to Albert Edward WILSON and Marie TROTTER. Her father was founder of A.E. Wilson and Co. Ltd. She was brought up graciously at her parents' home in Rosedale, the same house where she ended her days last year.
In 1912, when she was 3, Marie's father opened her first bank account with Bank of Nova Scotia. She would later sit on the bank's board as a director.
Marie was educated at Bishop Strachan School and went to the University of Toronto. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1935.
She practised civil law until her father became sick with Alzheimer's disease, thrusting the governance of his successful insurance company onto her shoulders. She became vice-president and later president upon her father's death in 1959. She rose to the challenge, successfully remaining at the company's helm until she sold it upon her retirement in the early 1980s.
Marie had numerous accomplishments throughout her life, and eventually was made a Queen's Counsel.
In her youth, she excelled in athletics. She was a keen badminton player and an avid golfer, a love that continued throughout her life.
Fluent in French, Marie was a regular visitor at Cap d'Antibes, France, and in later years spent winters in Palm Beach, Florida, at The Breakers hotel.
To our family, Marie was a refined lady who could balance the old world of her parents with the modern world of commerce and the demands of high society. She and Doctor McCULLOCH were married from 1948 until his death in 1954.
In 1977, Marie married Toronto lawyer Richard SANDERS in Palm Beach. Marie and Dick loved to entertain, dance and take long walks through Rosedale holding hands. Every year, they hosted a neighbourhood invitational golf tournament at the nine-hole putting green they had installed on their front lawn. Any visit to their house or an invitation to one of their many private clubs almost always included champagne cocktails - Marie's signature drink.
Dick died in 2001, and Marie continued to live in her childhood home.
She had style and grace, and her loyalty, family contributions, intellect and pioneering spirit will never be forgotten. We raise our glass in honour of Marie and toast her with a champagne cocktail.

McCULLOCH, Doctor Michael Alexander
(November 18, 1932-May 4, 2008)
After a long brave battle with leukemia, Michael left this world to sing, ski, play tennis and golf in the next. He died peacefully at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital where he had been a staff member for 45 years. Lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Ann (Rainnie) and children Gillian (Gord BOGDEN,) Pam (Jon TYNER,) Gavin (Carolyn MEACHER,) Maggie (Jeff AYOUB) and Matthew (Danah DUKE.) Also missed by his grandchildren Scott, Blake, Jamie, Nicholas, Luke, Heather, Clare, Logan and Tala. Survived by his brothers Bob (Virginia) and Ian (Maria) and many nieces and nephews. Michael was born in Montreal. He attended Bishops College School where he was head Prefect. He graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1959 and went on to be a family doctor (Dr. Mike) in Oakville. He also cherished his years as the school doctor at Appleby College and camp doctor at Kilcoo. His passion was for his family, his patients, teaching about diabetes to whomever would listen, and lately singing with the Oakville Entertainers. A fine athlete, he will be missed on the hills of Holimont and on the course of the Toronto Golf Club. A special thank-you to Doctor ROUSE and all the staff on 2E, especially Bev and Joanne and his fans at the Halton Diabetes Program. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint_Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville on Thursday, May 8th, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. Reception to follow. There will be no visitation. McCULLOUGH, Elizabeth " Betty" (née MacPHERSON)
Peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, on Saturday, March 1st, 2008 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late John T. McCULLOUGH. Loving sister to James MacPHERSON (Dorothy,) Isabelle MacPHERSON and Marilyn GEORGE (Stanley.▼) She was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Donald MacPHERSON and her sister-in-law Josephine. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Peggy and Barbara. Dear Aunt Betty to many nieces and nephews and their families. Betty was a member of the head Office staff of S.S. Kresge Company, Canada for 47 years and a lifelong member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Toronto. Betty will be sadly missed by her dear friend Kay CAMPBELL. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), Monday, March 3rd, from 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday March 4th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1: 00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5th. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Died suddenly at her residence in Alton on Thursday, March 13, 2008; daughter of the late Doctor J.C. McCULLOUGH and Marjorie McCULLOUGH, survived by her sisters Sara (Sally) WHITE/WHYTE of Alton and Elizabeth McCULLOUGH of Nepean, her niece Christina ANDREWS and her husband Hunter ANDREWS and their children Brian, Kirk and Elizabeth, her nephew Timothy WHITE/WHYTE and his wife Lisa and their children Gavin and Riley. Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Dods and McNair Funeral Home and Chapel, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. MacPHERSON, James (September 10, 1920-July 16, 2008)
Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital's Veterans' Wing after a courageous battle with cancer. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 60 years Dorothy (BOOTH,) daughters Carol, Patricia (Peter BALL) and Barbara (Ed GULBINAS) and his granddaughter Charlotte. Loving brother to Isabelle MacPHERSON and Marilyn GEORGE (Stanley.▲) He was pre-deceased by his brothers Robert and Donald and his sister Elizabeth McCULLOUGH. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Peggy and Barbara and his brother-in-law John BOOTH (Jeanne.) He was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and their families. Jim devoted his working life to insurance as an underwriter and manager. He was an elder and trustee of Willowdale Presbyterian Church for many decades. The family is deeply grateful to all the staff for the thoughtful care he received while at Sunnybrook. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will take place on Saturday July 19 at 11 a.m. at Willowdale Presbyterian Church (38 Ellerslie Avenue, Toronto). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Evangel Hall (552 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, M5V 3W8) or the charity of your choice.

RUTHERFORD, Norah Kathleen Margaret (née McCULLY)
Norah RUTHERFORD (née McCULLY) of Meaford passed away in Owen Sound on Sunday May 25, 2008 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Nelson Allister ‘Al' Mercer RUTHERFORD in 1996. She is remembered by her step-daughters Susan (David) JURKOWSKI of Ottawa and their children Mark (Jennifer) and Ryan (Suzanna) and Judith (Bill) MISENER of Toronto and their children Erin and Meghan. Norah was predeceased also by a brother and three sisters in their infancy. She will be fondly remembered by her several cousins and their families in England and the U.S.A. and by longtime Friends Audrey and Doug HAMBELTON of Thornhill. Funeral services will be conducted at Christ Church Anglican in Meaford on Wednesday May 28 at 1: 30 p.m. Friends may call at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Interment will be conducted at York Cemetery in Toronto on Thursday May 29. At Bluewater Health Mitton Street Site on 15 May 2008, James JOHNSON age 83 of Sarnia. Husband of the late June Barbara (HALL) JOHNSON. Father of Christopher, Valerie and Brett JOHNSON. Grandfather of Jessica and Ian McDOWELL, Tyler MacKENZIE and Ashley JOHNSON. Great-grandfather of Alison and Emily McCULLY, Kayla McDOWELL and William JOHNSON- RALPHS. Jim served as a Bomb Aimer in World War 2 with 426 Squadron. Later he returned to school at University of Toronto, he graduated in 1951 with a B.A.Sc., Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation Jim joined Dow Chemical. He retired in 1982. At Jim's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation is to take place and the ashes will be interred at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
