After
growing up in Seaforth, Ontario, Bill served in the Royal Canadian
Navy and fought in the Korean War. Soon after he married Barb
and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force allowing them to enjoy
traveling the world. After retiring from his 33 years of duty
with the Canadian Armed Forces, Bill and Barb settled in London.
Here Bill enjoyed working for General Motors until his retirement.
Bill and Barb enjoyed spending summers in Florida and California.
Bill was a proud member of the Legion, the Masons and most of
all a loyal fan of the Leafs. Bill will be fondly remembered
by all his neighbours and Friends. Now in passing Bill has been
reunited with Barb where they can continue their adventure. Special
thanks to the staff of University Hospital. Cremation has taken
place. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday from
7: 00-9:00 p.m. at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout
Street South, London where a celebration of Bill's life and a
Legion Service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion,
Lambeth Branch No. 501 will be held in the chapel on Monday May 5th
at 1: 00 p.m. with Reverend Frank

interment in Pine River Cemetery, Pine River Ontario. Memorial

on November 20, 2007 on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
David was the
son of Samuel Parker

He and Nancy were dearly loved and will be sadly missed by their
niece Norah

and many close Friends. Born on February 13, 1944, David grew
up in Toronto and studied Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
He began his career as a production film editor with Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation television in Toronto in 1967. His editing
credits included popular series such as Man Alive and The Nature
of Things as well as many award-winning dramas and documentaries.
His love of film extended to his personal life where he was an
avid collector and home-theatre buff with a special interest
in the science fiction genre. Later in life, he and his wife
moved to rural western Canada where he became involved in environmental
concerns and efforts to protect wilderness areas while also indulging
his passion for skiing and hiking. Cremation has taken place
and will be followed later by burial and commemorative gatherings.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society,
the David Suzuki Foundation or the Sierra Legal Defence Fund
would be greatly appreciated.
