Mervin
Arnold
Of Burlington, Veteran of World War Two and retired purchasing
agent with Burlington Hydro, passed away at Joseph Brant Memorial
Hospital in Burlington on Wednesday March 19, 2008 at the age
of 84. Born in Kimberley, Ontario, Mervin was a
son of the late
Willard and Lorietta (née
WICKENS)
GILBERT. He was predeceased
by his beloved wife, the former Alice
BREWSTER in 1987. He is
remembered as the loving father of Patricia and her husband Jack
DAVIDSON, and Ronald
GILBERT and his wife
Debra, all of Waterdown.
He will be sadly missed by grand_son Doug and his wife Laurie
of Burlington, granddaughter Sheri and her husband Jason and
their children Alexandra, Jessica and Grace of Waterdown, grand_son
Matthew and granddaughter Jennifer, both at home in Waterdown.
A sister Leota
WYMAN of Kindersley, Saskatchewan survives Mervin
and he was predeceased by a brother Kenneth
GILBERT of Kimberley.
Mervin will also be remembered as a brother-in-law of Dorothy
(late Allen
BREWSTER,) and Violet
MORRISON, both of Owen Sound,
Ernie BREWSTER and his wife Ev of London, and Harold
BREWSTER
and his wife Joan of Meaford. He will also be remembered fondly
by several nieces and nephews and their families. Family will
receive Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E.,
Meaford on Friday afternoon from 2 until 5 p.m. Funeral services,
officiated by Reverend Judith
OLIVER, will be conducted at the
funeral home on Saturday March 22 at 1: 30 p.m. with committal
service and interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. As your
expression of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke
Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated and
may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E.,
