Peacefully after a couagous battle with cancer at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, May 11, 2008. Erik Camiel VANTYGHEM of Aylmer in his 64th year. Eric was born in Gistel, Belgium on October 17, 1944 son of the late Charles and Maria LECOMTE) VANTYGHEM. He came to Canada in 1969, was a resident of Aylmer since 1990 and worked for many years as a brick layer. Eric is an avid fisherman and enjoys the great outdoors. Beloved husband of Ingrid (HONGENAERT) VANTYGHEM. Dear father of Maryke VANTYGHEM of Aylmer, Erika McDONALD and husband Rick of Komoka and Vivian SHWALUK and husband Chris of Ayr. Loving grandfather of Justin and Emily McDONALD, Katrina SHWALUK and the late Curtis SHWALUK. Brother of Simone VANTYGHEM, Fernand VANTYGHEM and wife Monique, Ben VANTYGHEM and wife Louise, Roland VANTYGHEM and wife Sonja and the late Theo VANTYGHEM and companion Julianna WERBROUCK. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the H.A. Of Union passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, March 9th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in 65th year. Dearly loved husband of Muriel Jean (WERELEY) WHITNEY and loved father of Michael of Dutton and Ronald of Union. Dear brother of Donald WHITNEY of Vienna, Ken and his wife Nancy WHITNEY of Union and Doris and her husband Jim GARVEY of London. Predeceased by a brother Francis (2005). Sadly missed by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. David was retired in 2000 from Yarmouth (Central-Elgin), where he worked over 30 years. HETHERINGTON, Erzsébet ROCHLITZ (Tibor,) their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and Ilona M. Peacefully after a long hard battle with cancer at Hanover and District Hospital on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Shirley DISNEY (née McDONALD) of Hanover, at the age of 71.
Shirley was the daughter of the late William and Vera McDONALD. Beloved wife of Bruce. Loving mother of Donna (Jim) COOK of Acton, Glen (Ann) SULKYE of Sarnia, Brian (Jackie) SULKYE of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Terry (Deanna) SULKYE of Hanover and Wendy (Paul) MOOS of Hanover. She will be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Ruth DISNEY of Elmwood, 17 grandchildren, one great-grand_son, sisters Louise (Harry) BETTE, Carol (Larry) BREUTIGAM, Irene MIGHTON (Gilles) and Sheila (Manfred) WERLE and brothers Bill (Pat) McDONALD, Don (Nancy) McDONALD and Keith (Cathy) McDONALD. Died peacefully at home Wednesday April 16, age 87, surrounded by members of his large, loving family. Former President and Chief Executive Officer of Foster Advertising Ltd., Toronto Past Chairman, Institute of Canadian Advertising and the Canadian Special Olympics; Director, Canadian Advertising Foundation and Ontario Chamber of Commerce; Board Member, Wycliffe College (University of Toronto); member, Albany Club and the Royal Canadian Military Institute. Born near Peterborough, raised in Renfrew and educated at Queen's, he left university in 1940 to join the Royal Canadian Air Force 400 Squadron, flying Spitfire and Mustang aircraft in fighter-reconnaissance missions over Europe during World War 2. He earned the rank of Flight Lt. and the Distinguished Flying Cross during his service; he was inducted by France into the Legion d'Honneur in 2004 on the 60th anniversary of D-Day. In the 60th year of marriage to his beloved wife Patricia Mary (nee HOLDEN,) and treasured father of Katherine (WERLING,) Michael, Terry, Kevin and Brian, Art leaves as well three daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren. A celebration of Art's life will take place at Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street, Toronto, 11 a.m. Tues. April 22. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society appreciated.

Predeceased by her husband Frank KENNEDY, son George KENNEDY and sisters Minna SCOTT, and Laura MacPHAIL. Lovingly remembered by her family Jim and Pat KENNEDY of Courtney, British Columbia, Mary Lynne and Bill ROWE of Woodstock, and Marilyn and David WERRY of Port Perry. Loved grandmother of Darin and Jodie KENNEDY, Jennifer KENNEDY- McDADI and Hatem McDADI, John KENNEDY and Marlow EDWARDS, Jacque ROWE and Darrin MURPHY, and Janey ROWE. WEBSTER, Diana (née GRAHAM)
Peacefully, on Friday, February 1, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Vancouver General Hospital. Beloved wife of Will, mother of Sean and Tara, mother-in-law to Christine and grandmother of her sweetheart Madison. Diana was a sunny, cheerful woman who tackled life's round with kindness, enthusiasm and good humour. Among her extended family, Auntie Di was legendary for her generosity and oceans of affection. Born on April 23, 1943 in Trail, British Columbia, daughter of the late Bob and Babs GRAHAM, Diana lived and worked in Vancouver, then Toronto, where she met and married William WEBSTER of Sherbrooke, Québec. The family later moved to Vancouver. She leaves her husband, children, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, also sister Lori WERRY of Dunrobin, Ontario, with husband David and son Matthew, sister Debbie GRAHAM of Abbotsford, British Columbia, brother-in-law Norman WEBSTER of Montreal with wife Pat and children David, Andrew, Derek, Gillian and Hilary, and sister-in-law Maggie GALLAGHER of Oakville, Ontario, with husband Tom and children Karen, Matthew, Kerry and Casey. Diana requested no funeral be held, but a celebration of her life is being planned for family and Friends. WERT, Walter Ross, UE
Wally died peacefully April 23, 2008 in his 91st year. Born July 3, 1917 in Avonmore, Ontario, he graduated from Radio College, Toronto, as a Commercial Radio Operator in 1937. During World War 2, Wally served in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals (#2 Special Wireless) and was awarded a special mention in dispatches for his work in Britain and Europe. He married Aleen (née WALTON) in England on July 31, 1943. At the end of the war, they settled into their first home in Montreal, where later their three daughters were born. Wally resumed work at RCA Victor, aligning and testing the first television set built in Canada in 1948. In 1957 the family moved to Chalk River, Ontario, where Wally designed and built their home while working as an instruments technician at Atomic Energy of Canada. For 18 years he partnered in 'Electronic Services', a home-based radio and television repair business. Wally retired in 1978 and two years later moved with Aleen to White Rock, British Columbia, where he continued to document his family genealogy until the end of his life. He self-published two books of his family history and a third about his war experience in Special Wireless. Wally was predeceased by daughter Joyce (FAIRBANKS) in 1993, and is survived by wife Aleen, daughters Anne (Sze-Yin) YUEN and Karen (John) RICHARDSON, son-in-law Bryan FAIRBANKS (Rebecca,) 3 Fairbanks and 4 Yuen grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a gathering to celebrate Wally's life is planned for July 3, 2008, in Surrey, British Columbia.
