by a number of family in Holland. Susan owned and operated Vermeer
Flowers with her husband Pieter. She was born in Holland on January 3rd,
1929 and came to Canada in 1951. Susan was a member of Knox Presbyterian
Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas
where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10: 00 a.m. Interment
to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 7-9 p.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association
or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Philanthropist, died at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by his
wife, Rachel (née
CAPLIN,) and his brothers, Harry
KOSTMAN and
Philip KOSTMAN. Survived by his nieces, Judith
KOSTMAN,
Mary
KOSTMAN and Ethel
KOSTMAN, his nephews, Alexander
KOSTMAN,
David
KOSTMAN and William
KOSTMAN, his sister-in-law, Henrietta
KOSTMAN,
and Rachel's niece, Yvonne
JACKSON. He will be missed by his
dear friend, Ruth
VOSKO, and her sons. George was born and raised
in Vancouver, British Columbia. He served in the Canadian Armed
Forces from 1944 until 1946, receiving a Canadian Volunteer Service
Medal. He will be remembered with gratitude by those who benefited
from his generosity. In his latter years, he surrounded himself
with Friends whose lives were immersed in the world of charitable
giving, most notably Lucia
STEPHENSON of United Way Toronto.
Among the organizations that were the recipients of his generosity,
United Way Toronto, Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, Senior
Peoples' Resource in North Toronto, Reena Foundation, York University
Foundation and Circle of Care. Special thanks to his favourite
caregiver, Savita
PERSAUD, and
to Jane MOORE and Thonuka
ROY
of Senior Peoples' Resource in North Toronto. A tribute to honour
George's memory will take place at a later date concurrently
with the dedication of his final charitable endeavour.
