Road (1 block east of Egerton) on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, February 26,
2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Mr. Graham

Lt. Col. (Ret'd, late Royal Canadian Engineers)
Passes away at the Ottawa General Hospital Wednesday April 23,
2008 at the age of 85 years. Besides his loving wife, Nguyen
Ngoc Dung, he is survived by his children Libby (John) of Ottawa,
David (Nancy) of Kingston; his step-children Dung (Eliana) and
Duc (Eleanor) both of Gloucester and Kim Chi/Anne de Bruin of
England and his grandchildren, Anthony (Carolynne), Michael,
Peter, Elaine, Ryan, Kimberley, Jessica and Aaron. He is survived
by his sister, Isobel and his brothers William (Beatrice) and
Ian (Diane) all of London, Ontario. His military service began
in January 1938 as a sapper with the 7th Field Co. Royal Canadian
Engineers, Non-Permanent Active Militia in London and attended
Royal Military College in Kingston from 1940-1942. He went overseas
in 1943 as an engineer reinforcement officer. Landing in Normandy
on D-Day (plus 3) he joined the 31st Field Coy near Boulogne
in September 1944 and served until VE Day. Serving with the International
Commission for Supervision and Control in South Vietnam in 1965-66,
Lt. Col. VEITCH was seconded to Canadian International Development
Agency to supervise the construction of Rehabilitation Centres
at Quan Ngai. In 1988, after 48 years of service for the Queen
and Country, he retired. There will be a private family service.

ASELSTYNE, age 94, formerly of Grand Bend.
Born in Ottawa in 1913. Beloved husband of the late Helen Maude
(BENSON)

by brothers Robert of Orillia and Gordon of British Columbia.
John was a World War II Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Upon his discharge from the Royal Canadian Air Force, he joined
his father-in-law, Tom
BENSON, at Benson-Wilcox Wholesale in
London. Later moving to Beach O'Pines in Grand Bend, he worked
in real estate, as well as being a lay minister at Saint_John's
By-The-Lake Anglican Church. Music was always a big part of John's
life, celebrated with many celebrities in his home. His many
nieces and nephews living across Canada and the United Kingdom
will cherish their memories of times spent with him. Funeral
services will be held at Saint_John's By-The-Lake Anglican Church,
Grand Bend, Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 12 noon. The Rev. Brad
