FINLAYSON, Mary Jane Leone
Peacefully at home in Seaforth, with her loving family at her side, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, Mary Jane Leone FINLAYSON in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur FINLAYSON (2001.) Dearly loved mother of Gail (Bill) UHLER, Diane (Stephen) MARCH, Jim (Marian) FINLAYSON, Brad (Teresa) FINLAYSON, Brenda (Ken) EMPEY, and Brett (Janice) FINLAYSON. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Survived by brother Bill (Norma) COLEMAN, Kippen and sister Shirley (Cliff) DELL, Belleville. Predeceased by a granddaughter Jamie FINLAYSON, in infancy and sisters Annie (Hugh) MORENZ and Sadie COLEMAN. Mary was active in many community activities and a of Northside United Church. She cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren and Friends. Over the years she enjoyed lawn bowling and reporting club news. Her love of gardening, cooking and quilting was evident by her successes at the Fall Fair. Visitation will be held at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 23 at 11: 00 a.m. at Northside United Church, Seaforth. Interment Harpurhey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Northside United Church, Seaforth Community Hospital, Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club or a charity of one's choice. At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Thursday, May 8, 2008, P. Doreen (PATTERSON) SHORTT of Glencoe. Predeceased by her husband, Robert A. SHORTT (2002) and her son Shawn WADE (2008.) Survived by her daughter-in-law Mary WADE of Strathroy and 2 granddaughters, Angela and Alicia WILSON, and one sister, Karen UHLER of Los Angeles California and her 3 sons, Jon, Brian and Mark. Sister-in-law of Donna SHORTT, Jack and Bruce SHORTT. At Doreen's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. At his home in Owen Sound on Saturday, March 1, 2008. In his 83rd year, Warren Lloyd FARROW, loving husband of Muriel M. FARROW (née BUNT.) Loving father of Rob and his wife Eileen and Patti FARROW. Loving grandfather of Brad and his wife Heather. Dear brother of Wilbert (Wib) FARROW and his late wife Myrtle, Norman FARROW and his wife Dessie. Dear brother-in-law of Wilma (Mrs. Lawrence FARROW), Shirley (Mrs. Arthur HAWKINS), Kathleen and her husband Clifford MAHONEY, Linda (Mrs. Don UHLINGER). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grand_son Michael WARREN, his brothers Lawrence, Russell and his wife Olive, Melvin, Frank and by his sister Rita. With grace and dignity, after a long and fruitful life, the family of William Henry UHRIG announce his sudden passing on Sunday, March 30, 2008, in his 90th year, at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton, Ontario. Loving and devoted husband of the late Mabel Lange UHRIG. Much loved father of Sandra REINHARDUS and her husband Carel of Southampton, Bob and his wife Carol Ann of Grand Bend, Bill Jr. and his wife Dana of Milton and Judy MERRITT and her husband Colin of Waterloo. Outstanding grandfather to Keri Leggett DAVIES and her husband Brad of Dorchester, Jodi Merritt BARENDREGT and husband Chris of Ingersoll, David and girlfriend Julie of Guilford, Connecticut and Jessica UHRIG of Kitchener. The best great-grandfather ever to Kai and Annie DAVIES. Survived by brother, Norman of St. Catharines, by sisters, Merle, Mrs. Stan HARROD of Brantford and Marguerite, Mrs. Leslie SMITH of Hamilton, as well as brother-in-law Ernie LANGE of Sault Ste. Marie and sister-in-law Marjorie LANGE of Scarborough and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father John Henry, his mother Lulu Mae, brother Jack and sisters Vida, Mrs. Clarence WARE, Lorraine, Mrs. Wilfred REINHART, Beatrice, Mrs. Russell GIBBONS, and Madeleine, Mrs. Ted WILLIAMS. He is now reunited with his loving wife Mabel and his grand_son Andy UHRIG. He will also be sadly missed by his morning coffee clutch. Born and raised in Southampton, (Little Stratford), with the exception of his service during World War 2, Bill spent his entire life in the town of his birth. He spent 47 years in the furniture trade, working at Fitton Parker Furniture, and retiring in 1983. After retirement, Bill continued his artistic talents by building and selling handcrafted pieces of furniture in his own woodworking shop, while mentoring others interested in the trade. In later years, Bill became an avid collector of bygone era memorabilia. Bill was a private man, who loved a good joke, and who was intensely proud of his family, and mesmerized by his great-grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155, in Southampton, for 62 years. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton, on Wednesday April 2, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home on Thursday April 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. Private Interment at Southampton Cemetery. Expressions of Remembrance to the Southampton United Church or to Southampton Legion Branch 155. At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 at the age of 67 years, Bill SHRIDER of Port Elgin. Beloved husband and best friend for 45 years of Veryl GIBBONS. Father of Wendy and her husband Richard QUIRK of Port Elgin. Grandpa to Cam and Patrick QUIRK. Brother of Louann HARCOURT of Port Elgin, Elizabeth UHRIG and her friend Brad of Kitchener, and Jim and his wife Patti Sue of Port Elgin. Brother-in-law of Gwen HARRON of Owen Sound. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Louie and Mabel SHRIDER, and his nephew Andy UHRIG. Friends may call at the W.
