CARSON, John Jarvis
Died Sunday June 15, 2008 peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at the Montfort Hospital after a brief and rapid decline in health. John was predeceased by his wife, Elspeth HERBERT. Much beloved by his children Elizabeth (Ian HUTTON,) John (Elisa BARBARESE), Faith (Barry BELLAMY), Deborah (Ted TUNIS), Daniel (Brenda LILLICO,) Kitty (Wayne COREY,) his companion-caregiver Derrick NAZARETH, and his grandchildren Dianna, Towani and Pascale, Philippe, Aaron, Leah, Adam, Matthew, Carson, Alexander, Eve, Benjamin, and great-grandchildren, Xavion, Mahalia, Carson, Clea, Natasha, Daniel, Joseph and Elizabeth as well as his Rolston and Herbert nieces and nephews. John grew up in Vancouver, served in the Canadian Army during World War 2. He worked at Woods Gordon, Ontario Hydro, British Columbia Electric, Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Dean of the Faculty of Management at Ottawa U. John was a keen cottager on the Sunshine Coast, Muskoka and Heney Lake Quebec. He was an Officer of the Order of Canada and received honourary degrees. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 11: 30 a.m. Reception to follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. Thanks to Lorne Parent of the Sandy Hill Community Health Care and staff of Montfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the University of Ottawa or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

TUNKS, Loraine (née TURNER)
Peacefully, with her family by her side at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Sunday, February 24th, 2008. Loraine TUNKS (née TURNER) formerly of West Lorne in her 84th year. Predeceased by her loving friend and husband Lloyd A. TUNKS (1987,) her mother Sarah Mae MONROE (née TURNER,) her step-father William E. MONROE and her brother Kinsly MONROE. Dearly loved and sadly missed by Carol JEWELL and family and Floyd TUNKS and family, granddaughters Myah NORRIS (JEWELL) and Hugh, Carla JEWELL, Erika SOUTHERN (JEWELL) and Mark, Chad TUNKS and Kelly of Ft. Saint_John, British Columbia, Rhonda McCAFFREY (TUNKS) and Sean of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Bambi TUNKS and David SCHELTEMA of Woodstock and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Loraine was a life long member of West Lorne United Church, a member and past Noble Grand of Lorna Rebekah Lodge #217, West Lorne and a recipient of the Degree of Chivalry member of T.O.P.S. DOAN, Doris Elva (née SAYLOR)
75, of Tavistock passed away in the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2008. She was born in Mosa Township, Middlesex County on March 15, 1932 a daughter of the late Isaac Roy SAYLOR and the former Elva Mae TUNKS. Doris was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Stratford; was a Past President of Women's Aglow and had been a long time volunteer at the House of Blessing and L'Arche in Stratford. She married Donald Percy DOAN at Bothwell on July 1, 1950. He predeceased her on September 22, 2000. She was also predeceased by her son, Paul DOAN. Doris is survived by two sons, David DOAN and Suzanne BROADBENT of Mississauga, Tim and wife Janie DOAN of Tavistock; two daughters, Joanne VERSTEEG and Chuck DRENNAN of Woodstock, Wendy and husband Ed BISSADA of Toronto five grandchildren, Raymond VERSTEEG, Ted BISSADA, Will BISSADA, Kate DOAN and Liam DOAN; one great-grand_son, Braden WALTHAM one brother, Ken and wife Linda SAYLOR of Bothwell; two sisters Betty McMILLAN of Tavistock, Bev and husband Clive HAMILTON of Sarnia; sisters-in-law, Edna RINGROSE of Kenora, Donna ADAM/ADAMS of LaGrange, Georgia and Helen DOAN of Saint Thomas. Besides her husband, son and parents she was predeceased by her brother, Donald SAYLOR; her sisters-in-law, Shirley SAYLOR- McMASTER and brothers-in-law, Don McMILLAN, Joe McMASTER, Ted RINGROSE, Wes DOAN, and Pete ADAM/ADAMS. Relatives and Friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Bethel Pentecostal Church, 2988 Ontario Street, Stratford on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. Pastor Charles SWARTWOOD will officiate. Interment in South Easthope Cemetery, Shakespeare. Peacefully at the Bluewater Health Care Centre, Sarnia on Thursday, June 5, 2008, Roberta KILTY of Sarnia and formerly of London in her 83rd year. Beloved wife for 58 years of Donald KILTY of Sarnia. Loving mother of John and Mary-Ann of London, Robert of Montreal, Glen and Susan of Cambridge, Betty May and Clarence DOWLER of St. Jacobs and the late Brian KILTY (2006.) Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Arnold TUNKS of Windsor. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by her sister Ida JEAN and her brother Robert. GIBBONS, Marlene (née MARTIN)
It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene GIBBONS announces her passing at the age of 51 years, on Friday, February 15th, 2008. Marlene will be dearly missed by her soul mate and beloved husband of 34 years, Frank GIBBONS. She will be forever in the hearts of her daughter Caroline and her husband Kevin PURDY of Port Elgin, Francine and her partner Jay PILGRIM of Kitchener, her son Thomas and his wife Susan of Port Elgin and youngest daughter Tracey and her partner Michael HASTINGS of Southampton. Nana by blood, and mother by heart to William GIBBONS. Loving and devoted Nana to Frankie, Abbigail, Cloe, Olivia, J.R., Michael and Lauren. Special Nana and second mother to many. Loving sister and sister-in-law to Eileen and Adrian TUNS, Wayne and Deanna MARTIN, Joan and Paul SCHILDROTH, Mike and Nancy MARTIN, Eleanor and Paul PETRIE, Roger GIBBONS, Ronnie GIBBONS, Murray and Edith GIBBONS.
