SIPOS,
Margita
Margita SIPOS died on January 18th, 2008 after a three month
struggle with brain cancer. She died peacefully at Grace Hospital
in Toronto in the company of her son John and daughter-in-law
Barbara TUER.
Born on Christmas Eve 1934, Margita experienced
the turbulence of World War 2, the creation of the Iron Curtain
and the Prague Spring of 1968. Margita immigrated to Canada in
1968 with her husband John Sr. and two sons John Jr. and Lubomir.
Sadly, Margita experienced the tragic death of Lubomir just at
the start of his academic pursuits in architecture. Margita was
also cruelly predeceased by her husband just a month ago. Margita
had a vibrant, larger than life personality which was evident
in her paintings, sketches and weaving. Margita loved her grandchildren,
Sarah, Marguerite, Tommy and John and was able to share her birthday
with them just recently. Fully engaged in life, Margita also
formed a deep connection with the staff at Grace Hospital who
provided great comfort to her. Margita left an indelible impression
upon everyone she met. 'Babka' will be greatly missed by all
those who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service
will be conducted at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington
St. South, Saint Marys on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 3 p.m. with
visiting one hour prior. Donations in Margita's memory may be
made to the Toronto Grace Hospital Foundation through the funeral
home by calling 519-284-2820 or online at www.hodgesfuneralhome.ca.
