HARRISON, Norman William
Of Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, formerly of Chesley, passed away in Nova Scotia on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Patricia KENT (1991.) Loving father of Timothy (Sandy) of Brampton, Lynda (Les) JANKE of Williamsford, Patrick of Aurora, Norman (Patricia) of Chesley, Loraine (Rob) KARL of Hanover, Andrew (Julie) of Peabody and Kelly (Jan) of Elmwood. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Stephanie, Charlie, Jennifer, Jay, Vaughn, Amanda, Leanne, Cody, Tyler, Emma, Ben, Liam and Ashley as well as great-grand_son Gavyn. He will be fondly remembered by his son-in-law Bruce VICKERS of Newmarket; Judy LOUKRAS of Peterborough; dearest Friends Gordon and Cathy BOUTILIER of Sheet Harbour and his canine companion Purdy. Predeceased by his daughter Jo-Ann VICKERS; sons Basil and Michael; sister Jean TODD; and his parents, William and Isabelle (BROWN) HARRISON. Visitation will be held at Cameron Funeral Home, Chesley on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery. At his late residence on Monday, April 28, 2008 David William NEWTON of Exeter in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Sandra (Kuntz) NEWTON. Dear father of David and Heather NEWTON of Strathroy and Brigette and Cam TODD of Goodwood. Dear grandfather of Daniel and Lindsay; Mac, Kennedy and Karston. Dear son-in-law of Marie KUNTZ of Surrey, British Columbia and the late Robert KUNTZ. Dear brother of Jacqueline NEWTON of Ottawa. Predeceased by his parents David and Ina (PEARSE) NEWTON. Dave taught Building Construction at South Huron High School from 1975-1994. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 332 Huron Street West, Exeter on Thursday, May 1st at 11 a.m. with Pastor Harry FRIELINK officiating. FERGUSON, Ruby Marilyn (née JOHNSTON)
Of R.R.#6 Saint Thomas, passed away on Monday, July 7th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, in her 74th year. Dearly loved wife of 54 years of Stanley FERGUSON and loved mother of James and his wife Nancy of Saint Thomas, Karen and her husband Paul BUCHANAN of Belmont, Barbara (late Paul) LOGAN of Belmont and Susan and her husband David TODD of Belmont. Loved grandmother of Alicia (fiance Tanner), Katie, Jodi (Sean), Lindsay (friend Rob), Kara (friend Jason), Stacy, Becky (friend Rob), Christopher (friend Jody) and Nicole and Lesley. Loved great-grandmother of Sierra, Bailey and Leah. Dear sister of Cecil Jr and wife Marilyn JOHNSTON of London, Roy and his wife Joanne JOHNSTON of Belmont and the late Margaret KELLY. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Ruby was born in Westminster Township on June 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth (SHAVER) JOHNSTON. She worked with her husband farming on the Ferguson Line. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 1: 00 p.m. Rev. Don MacPHERSON officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre.

Suddenly in St. Lucia on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 age 69 years. Beloved wife of the late Claus STRAHL. Loving and devoted mother of Jamie (Josiane,) Gregory (Karin) and Jennifer (David SURETTE.) Cherished grandmother of James, Megan, Hannah Mae, Sadie and great-grandmother of Riley. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, her business associates, many Friends and neighbours. Barbara was formerly President of Claus Strahl Insurance Broker Ltd. and a life member of The May Court Club of Ottawa. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. A service to celebrate the life of Barbara will be held at Southminster United Church, 15 Aylmer Avenue (at Bank Street), Ottawa, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2: 30 p.m. Memorial donations to the Hospice at May Court, 114 Cameron Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario K1S 0X1 would be appreciated by the family.

SHEARD, Gail (née FERRISS)
December 28, 2007, loving and beloved wife of the late Terence SHEARD, C.B.E., Q.C., (1985.) Dear twin sister of the late Joan HATCH (H. Clifford HATCH d.,) daughter of the late Kathleen and Ezra Garth FERRISS of Walkerville, Ontario. Proud and cherished aunt of Clifford HATCH (Sylvie), Gail TODGHAM (Doug), Mary HATCH, and Richard HATCH (Patti.) She was the loving great aunt of Diane HATCH (Chris NAUDIE), Aurelie BRYCE (Doug), Clifford HATCH (Amanda), Anne and Paul TODGHAM (Mary Anne), Elizabeth and Michael STEPHENS, Johanna and Kristofer HATCH. Dearest friend of Helen PERREN. The family extends its thanks to Rolyne GALLARDO and Ella CAPUYAN for dedicated care during the past twenty-one months. After graduating from Walkerville Collegiate, Gail enrolled in University College, University of Toronto, where she won a Reuben Wells Leonard scholarship. She graduated in 1937 with an Honours B.A. in Modern Languages alongside her beloved twin sister Joan. Her business career included advertising, script-writing, and promotion in Toronto and Ottawa. Following her marriage to Terence SHEARD in 1950, Gail enjoyed an active life as a volunteer, serving 42 years as a member of the Volunteer Committee of the Art Gallery of Ontario, including 22 years as a docent in the adult education program. Gail was a member of the University Club of Toronto, and an Honorary Life member of Rosedale Golf Club, (where she was both Captain and President of the Ladies' section.) Gail SHEARD was a Founder Member of the Art Gallery of Ontario, and a Lifetime Member of King's College Circle, University of Toronto. Funeral services will be held at St. Simon-The-Apostle Anglican Church, 525 Bloor Street E. at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, followed by burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The family invites Friends to a reception at Rosedale Golf Club, 1901 Mt. Pleasant Rd. immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gail Sheard Endowment Fund for professional development of curatorial staff, Art Gallery of Ontario, 317 Dundas Street W., Toronto M5T 1Y2, the St. Simon-the-Apostle Anglican Church, 525 Bloor Street E., Toronto M4W 1J1, or a charity of your choice.
