PATTERSON, John Carmen
Passed away peacefully at home Strathroy on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in his 65th year. son of Helen THYNNE and the late Clarence PATTERSON. Beloved husband of Judy (OSBORNE.) Loving father of Jackie PATTERSON, Leslie LAWRENCE (Trevor) and Joey PATTERSON. Loving Papa of Brooke, Bryson and Morgan PATTERSON and Michael LAWRENCE. Survived by brother Bob Patterson (Donna,) brother-in-law Joe OSBORNE (Carol) and sister-in-law Jill OSBORNE. Visitation will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, (264 Princess Street, Strathroy) on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 1-3 p.m. with a Memorial Service following at 3 p.m. with Doctor Ed FONTAINE and Pastor Roger GAST officiating. In memory of Carmen donations may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 12: 30 p.m. from the church. Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy entrusted with arrangements 519-245-1023. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Carmen.

ABBOTT, Roy Charles
Of Sarnia, formerly of Saint Thomas, passed away at Sarnia General Hospital, March 6, 2008. Husband of Bonnie ABBOTT, Sarnia. Loving father of daughters Jeanine THYSSEN, Saint Thomas and Linda ABBOTT, Toronto; sons Terry ABBOTT, London, Tom and Cheryl ABBOTT, Brockville, Dan and Daryl ABBOTT, Ailsa Craig, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dad was born in Saint Thomas on April 6, 1921, son of the late Clarence and Violet (WRIGHT) ABBOTT and brother of Mae EMERY. Also predeceased by daughter-in-law Aileen ABBOTT, sons-in-law Joe HUISMAN and Jack THYSSEN. Dad, in his young years, worked at the Iron Foundry in Saint Thomas; then in Toronto for 18 years. After that he went to work at Westminster Hospital in London until his retirement, after which Dad went to work at Bingo Country, Sarnia for a few years. He then went on to manage a highrise apartment building in Sarnia until four years ago. Dad had always been an avid hockey and baseball fan and he loved life and people. Always loved and forever in our hearts. Cremation has taken place.

THYSSEN, Walter
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Walter THYSSEN, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his residence, in Saint Thomas, in his 58th year. Beloved husband of Judy and cherished father of Adam and his wife Karoline THYSSEN and Melissa WOJCIK. Much loved son-in-law of Amy HALDANE and dear step-son of Christel THYSSEN and her companion August KLOTZ. Special brother of Jim THYSSEN, Cynthia THYSSEN and Richard THYSSEN and his wife Colleen. Special brother-in-law of Sheryl and Mike MARSHALL and June and Tom McCHESNEY. Also lovingly remembered by several nephews and nieces. Walter was born in Wingham on May 2nd, 1951, the son of the late Joe and Winky VANDERHARST) THYSSEN. He worked over 27 years at Canadian Timken. Walt was active in Scouting over 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed canoeing and hiking. Visitation at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Walter's life will be held at St. Hilda's-St. Luke's Anglican Church on Tuesday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the London Regional Cancer Clinic.
