BLAKEY, Marjorie Mae (TALBOT)
At the Brampton Civic Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2008 formerly of Maxwell in her 86th year Beloved wife of the late Fred BLAKEY. Loving mother of Clifford (Barbara) of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Wilfred (Betty) of Kirkland Lake, Judy (Robert) FERGUSON of Brampton and Beverley (Jorgen) ORMSTRUP of Calgary, Alberta. Dear Sister of Mervyn (Marie) of Creemore and Maurice (Shirley) of Desboro. She will be loved and remembered by her grandchildren Kim, Kevin, Collin, Mercedes, Michael, Julie, Brenda and Robert and great-grandchildren Miranda, John, Bobby, Joshua and Nicholas. Pre-deceased by sister Melvina and brothers Bob, Delbert and Harris. Marjorie was an active member in the Maxwell Women's Institute, Anglican Church Women's League, Young at Heart Senior's Club and was the Assistant Post Mistress at the Maxwell Post Office (1976-1986). The family received Friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton, on Sunday, March 9 from 1-5 p.m. Service was held in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. Spring interment Maxwell Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Beloved husband of Maud (née HOPKIN.) Cherished father of Vivian and husband Morris VILLENEUVE of Manitowaning, Alice and husband Burke PENNIE of Manitowaning. Dear granddad of Jacqueline and husband Bob WHITE/WHYTE, Jennifer and husband Neil TALBOT, Shawn VILLENEUVE and Jenny, Heather and husband Mark GIBEAULT, John and wife Lara PENNIE, Tina and husband Jon BALFE, Robert and wife Lisa PENNIE. Special great grandfather of Christopher, Steven, Shelby, Kelsey, Rosie, Brooke, Jack, Grace, Annie, Mary-Alice (MyA), BRODIE. Peacefully at Oxford Regional Nursing Home, Ingersoll on Tuesday February 12, 2008, R. Laurene GEE, formerly of Norwich, in her 84th year. Loving mother of Jim and wife Dianne of Manitowaning, Robert and Lovey of Shanty Bay, Bill and wife Joan of Tillsonburg, Chuck and wife Barbara of Louisiana, Elaine and husband Bob MIGHTON of Norwich, Don and wife Sandra of R.R.#2 Burgessville, Joyce BORLAND and Rick TALBOT of R.R.#3 Norwich. She will be missed by her 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Becky GEE and sister Bessie SNOW. Laurene was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Br. #190 Norwich, life member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. #190, member of Norwich Seniors and Passtime Club. Mr. Gerald MacDONALD of R.R.#3 Ingleside, Ontario. suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday February 18, 2008 at the age of 63 years. (Retired Educator - Huron Superior Catholic District School Board.) Beloved husband of Sherry MELANCHUK. Loving father of Cheryl Ann TALBOT (Jeff,) London; and Janet Lynn MacDONALD of Brockville. Dear brother of Vincent MacDONALD (Meike); Garry MacDONALD; Heather BRUNET (Marcel); Allan MacDONALD (Joanne); Bonnie CUMMING (Malcolm); Cathy MacDONALD; Kevin MacDONALD and Dianne MacDONALD and brother-in-law of Mary MacDONALD. Gerry recently acknowledged that the past ten years were his happiest. He had time to spend with his much loved family - especially the two little loves of his life, Claire and Ian. He pursued his passions - a life long interest in geneology and automobiles. He was an active participant of the Lost Villages Society and the St. Andrews Knights of Columbus Council. HILL- SMITH, Colleen Patricia (née HILL)
Precious daughter of Mr. Frederick W. HILL and the late Margaret Shirley HILL passed away on June 2nd, 2008 in San Diego, California peacefully and in the spirit of generosity that shaped her life. Just shy of sixty years, Colleen will also be deeply missed by her brothers and their wives, Paul and Carol HILL of Regina, Saskatchewan; Daniel and Anne HILL of Berkshire, England; Terrence HILL of Vancouver; also mourned by her most beloved sister and her husband, Marylyn and Jack HORSMAN of Kelowna, British Columbia. Colleen will also be forever remembered by 13 adoring nieces and nephews; Rosanne HILL- BLAISDELL, Shannon HILL, Matthew HILL, January YANKO- HILL, Kathryn HILL, as well as Misters James HILL, Connor HILL, Patrick HILL, and Joseph HILL. Together with Danielle BEARS, Jonathon HORSMAN, Andrea LEFEBVRE and Stephen HORSMAN. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Colleen attended both Holy Rosary Elementary School and Marion High School, and will be remembered as a Provincial champion athlete in badminton. Graduating from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Montreal, Colleen began her studies at Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Boston, Massachusetts in the late 60's. This is where she met her life long best friend Leslie TALBOT, who walked beside Colleen in the last months of her brave journey. An intrepid traveller, Colleen lived and studied in India, New Zealand and Hawaii. In 1977 she married Mr. Leo SMITH of San Francisco. They ran a successful storage company together in Lahaina, Maui for several years until Leo's passing. Colleen then continued her studies in China in 1983, and the Dominican University of San Rafael in Marin County, California in 1984. She was a natural teacher, a gifted holistic health practitioner and a passionate lover of people. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Colleen will miss her genuine interest in their lives, her sage repartee, and advise (given freely), and her sparkling sense of humour. The family extends special thanks to Colleen's many devoted Friends… and our heartfelt thanks goes to The Hospice of San Diego and especially to Doctor Roger Strong and all the angel caregivers. Prayers for Colleen are at 4: 00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 at Mother of Confidence Church at 3131 Governor Drive, San Diego, California. The funeral service will be held at 10: 00 a.m. on Monday, June 9th at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 3459 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California. Beloved wife and life partner of nearly 60 years (June 12, 1948) of Howard John. Devoted mother of Howard (Betty Ann,) of Inglewood, Susan SANTINO (Joseph,) of Mississauga, and Steven (Elaine), of London. Loving grandmother of Danielle SWAN (David,) Michael SANTINO, Jeffrey (Cheryl,) Ryan, Lynn, David and William POULTER. Cherished great-grandmother of Dakota, Logan, Maija and Ben. Dear sister of Doreen CROWE, Elsie HEPBURN (James) and Janet CLEVELAND (John,) and sister-in-law of Donald McCALLUM. Predeceased by sisters Nancy Gayton (John) and Daisy McCALLUM.
