BLOCK, Pearl (née SUGAR)
Peacefully passed away at age 98, on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Daughter of the late Joseph and Etta SUGAR. Devoted and loving wife of the late William Robert BLOCK. Loving mother of Caryl ALEXANDER and Bradley BLOCK and his wife Margaret. Cherished grandmother of William, Trevor, Skottie, Michele and Jessica. Beloved aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters, Rose AXLER, Helen FISHER, Bertha FRANKEL, Belle SKOLNIK, Anne FRIEDENBERG and brothers Lou, Aaron, David and Harold SUGAR. " Your strength and dignity will always be an inspiration to all your family." A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 12: 00 p.m. from Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave. W. (between Yonge and Bathurst). Interment at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, on Bathurst Street. In her memory donations to her favourite charity The Hospital for Sick Children, 416-813-5320 would be appreciated.

World War II Veteran (Navy)
In hospital in Ottawa on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 83. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years Lois (née SUGGITT,) his daughters Anne (Vaughn ANDREWS) and Judith (Donald LEEK,) his grandchildren Katherine, David and Samuel, all of Ottawa, and his sister Rosemary SEWELL of Toronto. Special thanks to the Rev. Linda POSTHUMA of Epiphany Anglican Church and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Geriatric Rehab Unit and the Intensive Care Unit of the Civic Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bill's life will take place at a later date in Meaford, Ontario where his ashes will be buried. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association (1-800-226-8464) or the Canadian Cancer Society (1-888-939-3333). At the Hospice at May Court in Ottawa on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of 55 years to William. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Anne (Vaughn ANDREWS) and Judith (Donald LEEK,) and by her grandchildren Katherine, David and Samuel, all of Ottawa. Predeceased by her brother Ewart and her sister Audrey SUGGITT. Special thanks to Doctor MATUK, the medical staff of the General Hospital, the medical staff and volunteers at the Hospice at May Court and to the Rev. Linda POSTHUMA of Epiphany Anglican Church. A memorial service for Lois and Bill will take place at a later date in Meaford, Ontario where their ashes will be buried. Arthur (Art) Edwin STANFORD, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, March 10th, 2008 at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. Born in Cornwall August 19th, 1922, he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June (CHURCH) STANFORD, his daughters Sally STANFORD of Oshawa, Jan STANFORD- SUGLIO (Jim) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Penny STANFORD of Ottawa. Loving Grandfather of Brigid, Keavin, and Alexander. Art was predeceased by his parents Fred and Eva STANFORD, one sister Elizabeth (Betty) LANGIN. Art was a veteran of World War 2, having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Resting at McArthur Bros. and MacNeil Funeral Home and Chapel, 428 Second Street East, Cornwall, (613) 932-6300, from 1: 15 p.m. Thursday, March 13th, 2008 until time of service. A celebration of Art's life will take place in the Chapel of the Funeral Home Thursday, March 13th, 3: 30 p.m. Rev. Cathy DAVIS officiating. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Karen L. WALSH of London in her 52nd year. Beloved wife of Jim. Dear mother of Matthew. Predeceased by her loving parents Ivan and Mary JONES. Beloved sister of Carole (Gord) MacKINNON, Darlene (Dan) LUNDY, Gary (Sharon) JONES, Sandy (Rick) SKINNER, Gloria (Ed) MacDONALD and her twin sister Kim (Pat) POLISAK. Daughter-in-law of Irene and the late Alex WALSH, and a special sister-in-law to Kaye (John) HAMIL and Donna HACHE. Very special aunt to Jay and Shawn and her other nieces and nephews. Karen was the past president of London Jaycettes and J.P. Robarts Home and School Association. Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas St. E. (at Wavell) on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be in the chapel on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, in memory of Karen.
