born in the Ukraine, immigrated to Canada in 1930 and the United
States in 1965. He was the developer and owner of the Meatland/Food
City supermarket chain on the Delmarva Peninsula from 1973-1989.
He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church of St. Petersburg,
Florida serving as a deacon and on the finance committee. A memorial
service will be held at the Northside Baptist Church, 6000 38th Ave
North, St. Petersburg, Florida, Friday March 28, 2008 at 1 p.m.
A visitation will be one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

from the Ministry of Community and Social Services after 30 years
of service. He was well known for his love of gardening and his
dedication to his canine companions. A heartfelt thank you is
extended to the 4th floor nursing staff at University Hospital
for their care and compassion for Tom and his family during this
time. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by
the family from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday,
April 10, 2008 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout

will be conducted in the chapel on Friday, April 11, 2008 at
