After a courageous struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis,
Mario Godinho
SOARES passed away peacefully at hospital in Portugal
on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008. Beloved husband of Isabel Sales
SOARES for 48 years and loving father and father-in-law of Tony
and Julia of Toronto. Mario
SOARES was born in Aljustrel, Portugal
on December 24th, 1933. He emigrated to Canada in May of 1962,
where he lived in Toronto for 45 years. Mario was surrounded
by Isabel, Tony and relatives in his final days in Portugal.
He will be fondly remembered by his family and many Friends.
The family wish to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors
at the hospital in Lisbon for their loving care and kindness
during his stay there and to Friends and family for their prayers
during Mario's illness. Arrangements have been made for funeral
services on Friday, February 8th at the Pax Julia Funeral Home
in Beja, Portugal. If desired, memorial donations to honor Mario
