BARBOSA, Maria da Conceicao
At Victoria Hospital, on Sunday, April 27, 2008, Maria da Conceicao BARBOSA in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Elviro Carvalho BRANDAO. Dear mother of Antonio M. BRANDAO (Yvonette) of Brazil, Maria Natalia SOARES (David) of London, Maria DA LUZ RAPOSO (Antonio) of London and Maria Nascinmento MEDEIROS of Brazil. Also loved by twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Brazil. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, (Elm St. at Hamilton Rd.). Interment Saint Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Tuesday evening at 7: 30 p.m.

SOARES, Maria Francelina
Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2008, Maria Francelina SOARES passed in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Domingos. Loving mother of Albert (Emeria), Maria KOLSTEIN (John,) Josie BAPTISTA (Silvio.) Cherished grandmother of Chris SOARES, Jeffrey Baptista, Monica Kolstein-Karpat, Angela SOARES and Kevin BAPTISTA and great-grandmother of Lauryn and Lily-Eleanor. Dear sister of Margarida SERPA. Friends will be received at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy, on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8: 30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Father Lucio COUTO as celebrant. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In memory of Francelina, donations may be made to the Strathroy Hospital Foundation. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Maria Francelina SOARES.

Unexpectedly, at Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2008, Manuel De Medeiros CATUNTO of Woodstock in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Martinha CATUNTO for 40 years. Dear father of Tony CATUNTO and his wife Rita and Nelia HUNT and her husband Steve, all of Woodstock. Loving grandfather of Kathleen, Nathan, Dylan and Brandon. Dear brother of Jose CATUNTO (Margarida) of Woodstock, Antonio CATUNTO (Eduarda) of Mississauga, Basilia SOARES (Fernando) of Toronto, and Desiderio CATUNTO (Armenia) of Toronto, and brother-in-law of Joao Maria DE MEDEIROS (Diolinda de Deus Silva MEDEIROS) and Maria da Conceico Medeiros SILVA (Anjelo Andrade SILVA,) all of Portugal. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. SOARES, Mario Godinho
After a courageous struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Mario Godinho SOARES passed away peacefully at hospital in Portugal on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008. Beloved husband of Isabel Sales SOARES for 48 years and loving father and father-in-law of Tony and Julia of Toronto. Mario SOARES was born in Aljustrel, Portugal on December 24th, 1933. He emigrated to Canada in May of 1962, where he lived in Toronto for 45 years. Mario was surrounded by Isabel, Tony and relatives in his final days in Portugal. He will be fondly remembered by his family and many Friends. The family wish to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors at the hospital in Lisbon for their loving care and kindness during his stay there and to Friends and family for their prayers during Mario's illness. Arrangements have been made for funeral services on Friday, February 8th at the Pax Julia Funeral Home in Beja, Portugal.
