Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Shirley Jean BROOKS of Springfield in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Wayne "Bud" BROOKS (1994.) Dear mother of Karen BROOKS of Springfield and Patty JEDRIAK and husband John of R.R.#3 Tillsonburg. Loved by her grandchildren Candice JEDRIAK and Justin JEDRIAK. Sister of Albert SCRATCH of Kingsville, Doug SCRATCH of Kingsville, and Donald SCRATCH of Quebec. Predeceased by a brother Murray SCRATCH and a sister Aggie SCRATCH. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Kingsville, Ontario on September 12, 1930 daughter of the late George and Maude (WARE) SCRATCH. Shirley lived most of her life in Springfield. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, of ashes Springfield Cemetery. MORRISON of Wingham, Heather (Kevin) CROFT of St. Jacobs, Shannon (Perry) LANG of Woodstock and Kevin (Verna) BEECROFT of Guelph, dear grandfather to Ryan, Tyler, Brianna, Keegan, Rachael, Sydney and Spencer. Also survived by his brothers Bob (Ruth Ann) WERTH of Kitchener, Bill (Ruth Ann) WERTH of Waterloo, sisters Shirlee BECHTEL of Cambridge, Eleanore Fearon of Waterloo, Margaret (Dave) FARRISH of Stratford and Marion SCRIMGEOUR of Park Hill. Azelle was born in Semans, Saskatchewan in 1923, daughter of Abraham P. and Irene BULL) SHETLER. In 1939, she moved with her family to Buffalo, New York, where she graduated from Fosdick-Masten Park High School and the Felt and Tarrant Comptometer School. In 1946, she married Grant POLLOCK and moved to Parkhill, Ontario where she lived until 1979 when she married Barc ALDIS and moved to London, Ontario. Friends will be received by the family at the M. Box and son Funeral Home, 183 Broad Street, Parkhill. Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, March 7th at 2: 00 p.m. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Reverend Karen HINCKE, niece of Azelle will officiate. Interment in Parkhill Cemetery. It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family announces the passing of Alda Pearl (UNDERHILL) PICKELL of Vienna, in her 88th year at the Tillsonburg Hospital on Saturday, July 5, 2008 with her daughters and families at her bedside. Born in Houghton on March 29, 1921. Beloved wife of the late William (Charles) PICKELL (1966,) Daughter of the late Robert (Jesse) and Lorinda (Grace) (TOMLIN) UNDERHILL. Dear Mother to 8 daughters; Marlene (Don) TILLOTSON of Vienna, Shirley GRAHAM of Port Burwell, Lorraine YPMA (Arko) of London, Marion (Ken) SCRIPNICK of Sarnia, Gloria (Gord) TILTON of Tillsonburg, Linda (Harry) WILSON of London, Cheryl (Mike) SITTS of Mount Brydges, Marie (Wayne) BASHAM of Texas. SCRIVENER, Ann (née COULTHARD)
Peacefully, at the Toronto Grace Hospital, on Monday, February 25th, in her 76th year, of lung and brain cancer. Ann was the beloved wife of Alan for 47 years, treasured mother to Julie, Michael and Martha HAYNES (Brad,) and adored 'Grannie Annie' to Olivia, Georgia and Thomas Haynes. A gifted painter (Ontario College of Art '54) into her final year and Kiwanis Festival violin first prize winner, Ann worked as an advertising copywriter, and in consumer research at Procter and Gamble, where she met Alan in 1954. Ann travelled extensively and lived for three years in Italy, where Julie was born. While raising her family in Toronto, Ann spent many happy times enjoying tennis and coffee with her chums at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. She will be remembered for her humility, putting others first, her unfailing sense of fair play, devotion to her family and an inability to overlook any grammatical errors. Special thanks to the many caring supporters in the Toronto medical community (doctors, nurses and staff) at Princess Margaret, Western (9th floor Orthopedic), Grace (Palliative Care) and Community Care Access Centre Home Care and Doctor Evelyne BAIMEL, Ann's G.P. Close Friends were exceptionally helpful, loving and kind. At Ann's request, there was a private cremation. A reception will take place from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, February 29, at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club, 44 Price Street, Toronto, 416 922-1105. Public parking on Price Street. HORCHIK, Dorothy Ann (née NOBLE) (1933-2008)
Dorothy passed away at Lisaard House hospice in Cambridge, Ontario on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the age of 75. Dorothy will be remembered for her compassion and for her love of life. Dorothy is survived by her children Dan HORCHIK, Lynn MORTIMER and John HORCHIK, her daughters-in-law Christine JORDON and Emma HORCHIK, and her grandchildren Correne MORTIMER, Melissa MORTIMER, Geoffrey MORTIMER and Erin HORCHIK. Dorothy is also survived by sisters Joan SCRIVER and Jean NOBLE. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Bill NOBLE, and her sister Barbara McCREA.
