SHENDELMAN, Harry
On Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his residence, in his 91st year. Harry SHENDELMAN, beloved husband and best friend of Jennie for 66 years. Loving and doting father and father-in-law of Barbara (BANKS) BAKER and Ronald BAKER, and Judi and Martin RUMACK. Dear brother of Freda STERN, Beatrice RYBOWSKI, Goldye WISEBLATT, and the late Ben, Al, Sam, Morris, and Pearl SHENDELMAN. Devoted and caring grandfather of Corry and Jason, Marni and Bryan, Haley and Kosty, and Darren. Devoted great-grandfather of Alexa, Cole, Dylan, Tyler, Carly, Blake, Madeline, and Sammy. At Temple Sinai, 210 Wilson Avenue (east of Bathurst) for service on Monday, February 25th at 1: 30 p.m. Interment B'Nai Avraham section of Roselawn Cemetery. RUMBALL, Doris Elizabeth, B.Sc.N.
Doris was a dedicated nursing teacher and professional, initially of Hamilton General Hospital and subsequently Mohawk College School of Nursing. Over the course of Doris' life and career she inspired many others through her cheerful dedication and deep generosity. She worked tirelessly for many years at First-Pilgrim United Church, where she also developed lifelong Friendships which were very important to her. Doris was also an award-winning gardener, and deeply loved and cared for birds and all of nature. A loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Doris' sweet smile and quick wit remained to the end, and will be missed by many. Doris was born January 7th, 1924, and died March 3rd, 2008, aged 84. Daughter of the late Alvira (née COLGAN) and Carl RUMBALL, of Hamilton and earlier Brantford. Much loved sister of John K. RUMBALL (deceased) and of sister-in-law Daphne A. RUMBALL (nee MILLER) of Ancaster, Ontario and now Victoria, British Columbia. Beloved aunt of the late Michael RUMBALL (Susan,) niece Jan (RUMBALL) GARNETT, and nephew Chris RUMBALL (Ruth) and their families, all now of British Columbia. Doris was also predeceased by her two very close Friends and nursing colleagues, Wilda PINKNEY and Barbara BROWN. Doris' family and Friends gratefully acknowledge the faithful love and late-life caring of two of her wonderful Friends, the Rev. Allison HAYNES and Mary Lou COLLETT, and are grateful for the gentle care that she received in her final years at Saint_Joseph's Villa, Dundas. Visitation will be at First-Pilgrim United Church from 11: 00 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by a service of remembrance at First-Pilgrim United Church at 12 p.m. Friday, March 7th. In lieu of flowers donations will gratefully be accepted in Doris' honour to (First-Pilgrim United Church Trustees) or to an environmental organization of your choice.

RUMBLE, Robert Laverne " Verne"
After a gallant fight with cancer at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday March 27, 2008 Verne RUMBLE of Princeton in his 64th year. Beloved husband and friend of Lynda (LILLEY) RUMBLE. Dear father of Bryan and Shannon, Brantford and Brad and Sue, Princeton. Loving grandfather of Chantel, Brandon and Jordan. Also survived by his mother, Grace RUMBLE, Paris; a brother Dave and Mary RUMBLE, Burford; his father and mother-in-law Alex and Wilma LILLEY, Princeton; a brother-in-law Ron and Jeannie LILLEY, Kitchener and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Ron RUMBLE (2003.) Verne worked in the memorial business for 48 years and most recently owned and operated Woodstock Memorials. Verne was a Past Noble Grand of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #307 in Princeton. Relatives and Friends are invited to share memories of Verne with his family during visitation at the Rumble Funeral Home Celebration of Life Centre, 373 Maple Avenue South, Burford from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Service will be held in the "Celebration of Life Chapel" on Monday March 31 at 1: 00 p.m. Rev. David CATTON will officiate. Interment Princeton Cemetery. In Verne's memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. RUMBLE, Edith Mae (née HIGGS)
It is with heavy hearts the Rumble family announces the passing of their matriarch and Queen, Edith Mae on Sunday March 30, 2008. Edith Mae RUMBLE (HIGGS) was born to Levi and Myrtle HIGGS (CAMPBELL) on June 2, 1920. She married her husband Leighton Frederick RUMBLE (1983) on October 3, 1941. The most important thing in life to Edith and Leighton was their family. She was the proud mother of 5 sons, and grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her boys, her pride and joy, Ted and Brenda RUMBLE, Erie Beach, her special son Timmy (1997,) Tony and Gail RUMBLE, Raglan, Michael and Nancy RUMBLE, Blenheim, and David and Carolyn RUMBLE, Blenheim. Grandmother to Becky, John, Sarah and Catherine PRESTON, Beth, Rick, Evan, Colleen and Lydia HALL, Jenny RUMBLE, Amy and Costa ZOUMBOULIS, Ian, Rhonda, Klare and Drew RUMBLE, Emily RUMBLE, Erin, Scott, Blain, Brook and Bria BACIK, Brent RUMBLE, Jackie, Kerry and Jessica RUMBLE. Survived by her sister and partner in crime Hilda DUNDAR, Whitby and sister-in-law Sara HIGGS, Kingston, brother-in-law Glen and Marilyn RUMBLE, Rodney. Predeceased by her siblings, Eileen PARKING, Evelyn MURRAY, Gordon, Walter and George HIGGS. Edith and Leighton enjoyed 29 years in the city of Guelph where she worked at Biltmore Hats keeping her boys in style. They were devoted members of Paisley United Church in Guelph and the Fourth Line Community Church. Lady Edith was an avid seamstress, Rumble Racing sponsor and fan, and life of the party. Her smile and infectious laugh, high heels, red lipstick and kisses on the lips were part of her trade mark style. The RUMBLE family will receive Friends for visitation at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street, Blenheim on Wednesday April 2, 2008 7: 00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday April 3, 2008 2:00-4:30 and 7: 00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service celebrating Edith's life will be held at the Blenheim United Church on Friday April 4, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Bruce COOK officiating. Immediately following the service, interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Friends wishing to honour Edith by way of a memorial donation may do so by contributing to a charity of their own choice. RUMBLE, Major Geoffrey Archibald
Passed away on Monday afternoon, June 9, 2008 at North York General Hospital in his 96th year. Geoff was a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War 2 and served with distinction in both Italy and Holland. He worked for an amazing 42 years with the Toronto Police.
Beloved husband of the late Joan BOTSFORD (2006.) He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews Lindsay BOTSFORD, Tim BOTSFORD, Kathy FOSTER, David and Betty Ann HOBSON, Arthur HARRIS, Gail and Al HOWLETT and great-nieces and great-nephews Mark, Hawley and Laura FOSTER; MacArthur HOBSON and Trisha and Keith HOWLETT. Predeceased by his first wife Marion RUMBLE (née BROWNE) (1987.) Close friend of Jennifer and Tom BROWNING and Bob BORDEN.
A consummate gentleman, loyal friend, lover of animals and travel. He will be missed.

At the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, May 11, 2008. Dave GLOVER, of Meaford at the age of 85. Predeceased by his beloved wife, the former Mildred “Millie” GRANTHAM, in January 1993. Loved father of Kurt GLOVER and his wife Michelle of Penetanguishene and predeceased by a son David in 1975 and a daughter Dale SMITH in 2007 and remembered by his son-in-law Steven SMITH of Lafontaine. Sadly missed 'Poppa' of Evan and Morgan GLOVER and Eric and Craig SMITH. Dear brother of Betty RUMMEL of Wasaga Beach and brother-in-law of 'Bus' BROWN of Owen Sound and Doris GLOVER of Niagara. Predeceased by three brothers and two sisters and fondly remembered uncle of several nieces and nephews and their families. Family will receive Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., in Meaford on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and from 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Christ Church Anglican in Meaford on Wednesday May 14 at 11: 00 a.m. with committal and interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
