SMITH, Margaret " Evelyn" (McNALLY)
Peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, Margaret "Evelyn" (McNALLY) SMITH, age 93 of Sarnia. Beloved wife of the late Foster "Royden" SMITH (1999.) Loving mother of Linda (Les) MOIR, Elizabeth (Bob) HALEY, and William SMITH. Cherished grandmother of Keith MOIR, Melissa (Shawn) KARR, Paula (Trevor) McKINLAY, Brad (Paula) HALEY, Cory (Ehryn TORRELL) HALEY, Blair SMITH, and Jennette (Jay) SMITH. Great-grandmother of Haley McKINLAY. Evelyn will be missed by her extended family Kevin, Sarah, Rachel, and Emily McSWAIN and Jen and Connor MacLEAN. Survived by sisters Adeline SWAN of Inwood and Annie Mae WALLIS of Chatham. Predeceased by brothers Garnet and Ross McNALLY. The family would like to thank Betty RIGBY and the staff of Marshall Gowland Manor for their devoted care and support. Family and Friends will be received on Friday, July 11, 2008, from 2: 00 to 4: 00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Peacefully at Victoria Hospital surrounded by family on Thursday, July 17, 2008, in his 82nd year. Loving husband of the late Evelyn M. RIGG (2004.) He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Kevin and his wife Anne of London and David of Glencoe; and grandchildren Ian, Andrew and Katie. Dear brother of Muriel, Peggy and Doug. Friends may call on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 Saint_James Street at Richmond, where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 22 at 11: 00 a.m. by the Rev. Andrew REID. At Bluewater Health - Mitton St. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Frieda Isobel (née BRAIN) RIGGS of Sarnia passed away peacefully to be with her Lord after a short illness at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late F. Kenneth RIGGS (1997.) Loving mother of two sons, the late Robert B. RIGGS (2005) and his wife Karis (nee McCAW) of Sarnia and David W. RIGGS and his wife Karen (née BAYNE) of Essex. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Rebecca, Julie, Bryan and Alison. She will be deeply missed by her sister Anna Mae HARROWER as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Gordon HARROWER (1999.) Isobel will also be greatly missed by her lifelong friend Bill WISE. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia at 11: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and Friends will be received on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in the afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. and evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The family wishes to thank Doctor SHETTY, Doctor DHAR, Doctor SHERWIN and Doctor I. CAMPBELL for their excellent care. As well we wish to thank the RT's and the Nurses at Bluewater Health in the Acute Cardiac Care Ward. You have treated Isobel and our family with the utmost respect and delivered a level of care unsurpassed by many medical institutions. You brought a "ray of sunshine" into Isobel's room always offering hope and encouragement, and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. RIGLEY, James " Jim" Paul
At University Hospital, surrounded by his family on June 5th, 2008, James (Jim) Paul in his 78th year passed away after a brief but courageous battle. Beloved husband of Bernice (2000). Loving father of Diane Laur and her husband Dale, devoted grandfather of Jamie and Lindsay; loving father of Carol CLASSEN, devoted grandfather of Drew and Breanne; loving father of Trish PILEGGI, devoted grandfather of Kenzie. Jim was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada. Although Jim's family immigrated to Australia there have been many wonderful memories that have touched his heart throughout the decades with trips to Australia and wonderful letters, cards, calls and most recently through email notes. Jim is predeceased by his parents Tom and Margaret (nee MURPHY;) brothers and sisters, Grace, John, Dan, Jenny, Tom, Davie and two infant sisters Susan and Jean; and brothers-in-law Murray (Reen) BELL, and Alvin BELL. Jim was the much loved brother and friend of Eddie and Lily and will be greatly missed. Jim was an Uncle and Great Uncle and cherished by many wonderful nieces and nephews in Australia. Devoted and loving Uncle to Murray and Reen BELL's daughter Judy (BELL) WITTON and her husband Phil, and Great Uncle to Lori in Canada. Special thanks to Maurice O'CALLAGHAN, long time close friend of Jim's, Friends of the family Jason McDONALD, Brett BUTCHART, Brian KILCAN and Stephanie RUHLOFF, the wonderful and dedicated nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital, and to Pam Gosnell for all of her compassionate care. To all of Jim's family and Friends a fond farewell and A Wee Deoch-And-Doris if ye can say "It's a braw, bricht moon-light nicht: Ye're a: richt, ye ken! Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 9th, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, Woodland Cemetery. Rose will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Rose was the life long friend of Claudette LABRANCHE (deceased) of Sudbury. Dear friend of Monique SERRE, Cambridge Ontario, Joyce SIMISTER, London Ontario, Joyce SPRACK, Manitowaning, Laura RIGOULOT- BREDIN, Manitowaning, Lucille DESROCHERS, Copper Cliff, J. P. MILLER (deceased) of Sudbury, Queen Margaret JACKSON, Rosemary WAKEGIJIG, and all the sisters of the Red Sky Women of Manitoulin also known as the Red Hats. Rose was also a member of
the Manitowaning Friendship Club, Knox United Church Women and Southeast Manitoulin Veterans Group and an Associate of the War Pensioners of Canada. Funeral Service was held at 1: 00 pm Friday, January 4, 2008. Knox United Church, Manitowaning with Reverend Mary Jo TRACY officiating. Donations to Knox Church, local cancer charities, or Heart and Stroke would be appreciated.
