CAVES, Jean (née SHEPHERD)
Of Smiths Falls and formerly of Saint Thomas, passed away on Saturday, June 28th, 2008, at the Broadview Nursing Home, Smiths Falls, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late John "Harry" CAVES and loved mother of the late Joanne (Wilbur) CAVES. She was the last of her family. Predeceased by 2 brothers Robert and Fred SHEPHERD and six sisters Pearl McDONALD, Mabel HEBEBRAND, Hazel McLEOD, Edna DUNLOP, Evelyn MILLS and Erie RACE. Loved grandmother of Stephen MATTHEWS, Danny MATTHEWS (Pearl), David MATTHEWS (Debbie), Brenda McARTHUR (late William.) Sadly missed by 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great, great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Jean was born in Saint Thomas on March 1st, 1917, the daughter of the late Robert and Eva (VAIL) SHEPHERD. She lived in Saint Thomas most of her life. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 11: 00-1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth on Friday, February 22, 2008 at The Brant Centre, Burlington at age 84. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Irene INNES, sister Norma DE BOER and husband Glen COOPER. Loving aunt of Penny LAUE of South Africa, Sheena JAMES (Herb,) Lesley RACE (Allan) of Burlington, Ontario and Catherine DAY of Abbotsford, British Columbia and their families. Elizabeth was born in Kashmir and raised in England and Scotland. After her 5 year tenure in the Canadian Women's Army Corps, she immigrated to Canada in 1946. Her love for knowledge provided her with a rewarding and fulfilling life of reading, music, and art, which she shared with many devoted Friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville at 2 o'clock. On Sunday, July 13, 2008 our loving mother and nana, Renata DIMIC- DIMITRIJEVIC (née RACHAMIM) died tragically. Although we appreciate everyone's sympathies, we are learning privately, as a family, to cope with this immense loss. Our mother's final resting place will be with our dad at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Beloved husband of Pat (née NEATHWAY,) Dear father of Heather LINDSEY of Sarnia, and the late Jackie CHIVERS and Leslie PORTER. Dear step-father of Lyle and Doreen POWELL of Petrolia, Rick and Carol POWELL of Oil Springs and Cindy LEBLANC of Sarnia. Dear brother of Sandra SAINT_JEAN of Sarnia. Dear brother-in-law of Ruth WHITLOCK and Lois RACHER of Petrolia, Pearl FOX of Sarnia and the late Nellie MORNINGSTAR and Fred NEATHWAY. CLARK, Carol Anne (née MEREDITH)
Age 61, died peacefully with her family by her side in Bracebridge, Ontario on February 4th, 2008. Carol will be greatly missed by her husband Alan, her sons Simon ROSS of Durham, England (Sheena) and Michael ROSS of Montreal (Rachel;) by her brother David MEREDITH (Lynda,) sisters Sally BANNISTER (John) and Elin RACINE (Gaylen) and their children; and her wide circle of family and Friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents Jim and Elinor MEREDITH. A delightful spirit and wonderful soul; mathematician, cellist, writer, teacher; wife, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her; Carol was a marvellous cook and a fearless adventurer. A memorial service will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9 at the Lemonville United Church at 13523 McCowan Road in Stouffville, Ontario. Special thanks to the compassionate staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. HARRISON, Charles Edward
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chuck HARRISON on February 16, 2008, at the age of 81. Predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet (née GRAYSON.) Devoted father and father-in-law to Barbara, Cathy (David RACINE) and Nancy (Derrick GLEED.) Cherished grandfather to Gareth, Adam and Amanda. Loving brother-in-law to Norma and Jim TREBETT of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Chuck will be fondly remembered by his uncle Eddie of Calgary, his nephews Dave, Rick and Tom of Vancouver Island, his cousins and many Friends. Chuck began his distinguished career with the T. Eaton Company in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and during his 49 years made invaluable contributions serving in several senior management roles, culminating in his position as General Manager of the Toronto Suburban Stores. In his retirement, Chuck continued his love of retail by volunteering as a consultant with The Salvation Army for their retail outlet stores. The family will receive Friends at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding Avenue, south of Steeles, on Thursday, February 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. At Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday April 27th, 2008, after a brief illness, Mr. Milton ARNOLD of Chatham in his 70th year. Loving son of the late Irwin and Ellen ARNOLD. Beloved husband of Suzanne ARNOLD and the late Gloria GLOVER (1972) and the late Pat HUNTER (1997.) Loving father of Brenda RACZ and her husband Ron of Alberta, David ARNOLD and Mary CAPILANO of British Columbia, Brent and his wife Dorothy of Chatham, and step father of Tammy HUGHES and her husband Ian of Barrie. Dear brother of Ina Jean TEMPLE and her husband Keith of British Columbia. He will be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren. Milton served as a police officer on the Chatham-Kent, Windsor, and Dutton Police Services, followed by thirty years in the trucking industry. In his retirement Milton enjoyed yard sales and car shows.
