Peacefully, at her home in London, Ontario on June 19th, 2008, Dora (Dolly) VAISLER (née HENDELMAN) passed away in her 90th year. Loving wife of the late Harold VAISLER (1999.) Mother of Peter and his wife Sheila VAISLER and Susan VAISLER and her husband Steven AZMIER. Proud grandmother of Sarah, Trevor and Casey. Sister of Meyer HENDELMAN and his wife Barbara. Sister-in-law of June and Daisy HENDELMAN. Aunt of Barry VAISLER, Alissa POSLINS, Shelley ROCHWERG and Paul KASH. Predeceased by her brothers Saul and Jack HENDELMAN and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Syd and Sari VAISLER and Ethel and Hy KASH. For many years, Dolly was extremely involved with the London community. She served for several years as President of Haddassah and was active in Sisterhood. Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas H. SMITH (1959) and Nora (1976) of London, her brother Rev. Tom SMITH (2000) of Auborn, Washington State, and two sisters Marjorie DAGLEY (1995) of London and Ora MacARTHUR (2001) of Winnipeg. Elsie is survived by her younger sister Noreen DALE of Strathroy. Beloved wife of two predeceased husbands James Wellington TRIGGER (1954) of London and John Knox COLVIN (1977) of Belmont. Beloved aunt of Doctor Peter SMITH and wife Betty of Washington State, Sandra POSNO and husband Ron of London, Penny McGREGOR and husband Mike of Chatham, Colin MacARTHUR and wife Sharon of Winnipeg, Cathy LUCAS and husband Len of Winnipeg, Barbara STUBBS and husband Byron of Glencoe and Paul DALE and wife Bonnie of Denfield. Also survived by great nieces and great nephews Bryar, Brydn, and Bary STUBBS, Jason and Kimberly DALE, Rob (Nathalie,) Colin (Gail,) and Sandy (Christine) McGREGOR, Sara and Lexi McARTHUR, Kristen and Tim LUCAS, several great-great-grand nieces and nephews. Elsie grew up in London, the fourth of five children and worked a variety of stenographic roles for the Federal Government and Provost Police at Wolsley Barracks. In 1960, she moved with her husband Jack to Sept Isles, Quebec where she was very active with the Royal Canadian Legion and the local curling and golf clubs. During the early seventies, she and Jack relocated to Merrickville, Ontario to own and operate the Merrick Hotel - A heritage property on the Rideau Canal. Elsie was widowed shortly after returning to London in 1976. An avid bridge player, she also became very active with the Thistle Lawn Bowling Club (life time membership) and volunteered with the Salvation Army, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Lung Association. A memorial service will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 3 p.m. Private interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, Audrey Ileana PRETLOVE (née POSSNETT,) beloved wife of the late William (Bill) James PRETLOVE (1925-1989.) Audrey is survived by her son David, daughter Deidre and loving granddaughter Meaghan. Audrey was born in Montréal on August 25, 1925 to the late John POSSNETT and Florence SUMMERS. She was raised by her aunt the late Pearl SUMMERS, became a teacher and taught for many years. Audrey is fondly remembered by Carol Lodge, her friend for 76 years and her cousin Doreen VITTORI and family. Remembered by Friends and relatives in Montréal and elsewhere. The family would like to thank the staff at the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor for their care. Special appreciation to Thelma, Fely and Vera for their loving care during the last few years. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judge WALLACE at Hospice Niagara, St. Catharines, Ontario, on Saturday, June 28th, 2008, aged 77.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda TENNYSON, Vancouver, British Columbia, son, Bill WALLACE, Vancouver, British Columbia, daughter, Kimberly POST (Barry), Niagara Falls, Ontario and cherished grandchildren, Victoria, William and Joshua POST. He is also survived by several cousins in Fort Erie and Ridgeway and long time Friends Millie Townsley and Ann Cuny.
Judge WALLACE was born in Buffalo, New York and was predeceased by his parents Wilfred WALLACE (1957) and Caroline WALLACE (1996,) Fort Erie, Ontario. Judge WALLACE received his elementary and secondary education in Fort Erie, Ontario.
Following his graduation from McMaster University he attended Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1957. He then joined the law firm of Raymond, Spencer, Law and McInnis in Welland. He later practiced with the law firm of Griffiths, Sharpe, Clement and Wallace in Niagara Falls. He served as an alderman on the Niagara Falls City Council from 1973 to December, 1975. He was appointed a Provincial Court Judge in January, 1976 and sat on the bench until he retired in February, 2006. He was known for his insightful decisions and enjoyed a reputation being a very firm and fair-minded judge. He was a longtime member of Delta Chi Fraternity and the Palmer Masonic Order, Fort Erie, Ontario. He was a faithful fan of the Buffalo Bills football team since 1967. His family and Friends will remember Judge WALLACE as a very kind, gentle man who was known for always coming up with humourous one-liners.
A special thanks to Doctor B. BASSIL, Doctor E. HUGHES and Doctor Brian KERLEY and the nurses of Greater Niagara General Hospital and Hospice Niagara for their compassionate care.
Resting at Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel (Niagara Falls 905-354-5614), where the family will receive Friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a one-hour visitation at Stamford United Church prior to the service celebrating Judge WALLACE's life on Monday, July 7th, 2008 at 11 a.m. A private family burial will take place at another time. A resident of Chatham and formerly of Ridgetown, Gail AUKEMA died on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at the age of 81. Born in Holland to the late Hendrik and Trinjtje (WOLTERS) VAN TIL. Beloved wife of the late Evert AUKEMA (1989.) Loving mother of Henry and Alyce AUKEMA, Teresa and Dan HEATH, John and the late Tina AUKEMA, Harold and Joyce AUKEMA, Brenda and Ron MAK, and Rob and Brenda AUKEMA. Gail will be missed by her 26 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren. Sister of Gerrit and Janny VAN TIL, Harry and Bea VAN TIL, Jenny and the late Wiebe POSTMA, Marten and Stien VAN TIL. Sister in-law of the late Jan-Evert and Blijke AUKEMA, Beits and the late Hank KROON, Jim and the late Roelie AUKEMA, Jan and Zwannie AUKEMA, Evelyn and the late Harry RIEPMA, Wob and Joke AUKEMA, Cecil and Freida AUKEMA. Died peacefully at the Saint_Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto on January 19, 2008. Jim was born in Sudbury in 1936, special son of Carman and Alexine ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (LEFEBVRE) of Sudbury (both deceased,) brother of Shirley POFF (deceased) (Keith) of Belleville, John ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (deceased) (Min) of Markdale, Janet GALASSO (Pat) of Kingston, Nancy FARWELL (Dave) of Orillia. Predeceased by nephew Christopher POFF (Christine KEMPI) of Port Dover, and survived by many nieces and nephews, Vicki SIMONS (Rodney) of Belleville, Liz GOW (Bob) of Orillia, Barb BLACK (Jeff) of Oakville, Tom ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (Lisa) of Cobourg, Rob ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (Shirley) of Stamford, Connecticut., Peter ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (Katie MORRISON) of Midhurst, Kari GALASSO (Ken ARNOLD) of Inverary, Linda GALASSO (Kevin ARMITAGE) of Mill Valley, California., Michael GALASSO (Kelly) of Waterloo, Kim FARWELL of Ft. McMurray, and Jane POSTMA (Scott) of Dundas. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Jim was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He will be interred in Sudbury. There will be no public visitation or funeral. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in Sudbury at a later date. The family would like to thank Suzanne CRAWFORD and her staff at Saint Anne's Place, Toronto, for supporting Jim as he lived his life in the last four years, on his own terms.
