FERGUSON, Ian W.
Peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Parkwood Hospital, Ian W. FERGUSON of London passed away in his 88th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Mildred for over 61 years. Loving father of Donna THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Eric) of London, Wayne FERGUSON of London, and Paul W. FERGUSON (Teresa) of London. Predeceased by his brothers Angus and Donald FERGUSON, brother-in-law of Alice FERGUSON and Margaret McKENZIE. Dearly loved by his grandchildren Nicole THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Mike) of Amhersburg, Trevor THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Tasha) of Highland Ranch Co., Marshall THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Lindsey) of London, Meredith FERGUSON, Ian FERGUSON Jr., and Bartosz PEKALSKI (Amber) all of London. Ian served with the 1st Hussars in World War 2 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Victory Branch #317. He retired from the Civil Service after 33 years in 1978 and spent a long and enjoyable retirement in the Cherryhill Community. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff of Parkwood Hospital, 4B south for their wonderful care and compassion. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. A Royal Canadian Legion service under the auspices of Victory Branch #317 will be conducted at 1: 00 p.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ian, are asked to consider the Parkwood Hospital Veterans Memorial Fund. Online condolences accepted at condolences@westviewfuneralchapel.com
