Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Hospital on Saturday, February 16, 2008 M. Jean (PEIRCE) CARSWELL of London in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Alan C. CARSWELL. Best friend and companion of Jack ATKINS. Dear mother of Nancy WILLOUGHBY and her husband Ron of Montreal and Bill CARSWELL and his wife Barbara of London. Proud grandmother of Tom WILLOUGHBY and his wife Tina, Neil WILLOUGHBY and Ryan CARSWELL. Loving great-grandmother of Meagan and Katie WILLOUGHBY. Predeceased by granddaughter Kelly Jean CARSWELL. The family will receive relatives and Friends from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 and on Wednesday February 20, 2008 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. which will be held in the chapel of the A. At the Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Marian Ruth SAWTELL (née PEIRCE) of Woodstock. Beloved wife of the late R.E. "Bill" SAWTELL (2001.) Dear father of Mary COOK and her husband John, Dawn ROWELL and her husband John and Anne SAWTELL and her husband Robert WATSON all of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Aveleigh COOK, Elizabeth ERB (Trevor), Susan TURKALJ (Vince), Mary Catherine BAKER (Shaun), Christine ROWELL (Eric DOPF) and great-grandmother of Nicholas ERB, Brooke and Mathew TURKALJ. Predeceased by a daughter Aveleigh Ann, by her parents W.H. "Cap" and Hattie PEIRCE and by her sister Helen HOWARD. Marian was a charter member of the Y's Menettes Club, a member of the Woodstock Oxford Women's Probus Club, had worked with the Women's Committee of the Woodstock Art Gallery and was a member of Central United Church. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. John FURRY officiating. Interment later in the Baptist Cemetery. Contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. BELL, Hélène Mary
Passed away peacefully at London Health Sciences Center - University Hospital on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Hélène Mary BELL at the age of 86. Cherished mother of Carolyn BASKEY; and Wayne and his wife Shirley BELL. Loving grandma of Janice and Robert BASKEY and Sandy and Chris BELL. Dear sister of Penny BRAIN, Robert PEIRCE, Catherine HESKETH and the late Frank PEIRCE. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at Saint Michael's Church, 515 Cheapside Street at Maitland Street on Friday morning June 20, 2008 at 11 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Prayers Thursday evening at 7 o'clock.

GUTOWSKI, Peter
With dignity and grace, at home with family, March 31, 2008, in Toronto, Ontario Beloved husband of Peggy (née PEIRCE) for 47 years, father of Michele (George RADZISZEWSKI,) pre-deceased by his brother Marek, his mother Sophie and his father General Michael GUTOWSKI. Sadly missed by his uncle Spyszek GUTOWSKI, cousin Asia GUTOWSKA- NORMAN and son Alexander, cousin Jan GUTOWSKI and wife Maria, sister-in-law Donna Mae CLAPP, nieces Wendy and Laurie and their children Katelyn, Cameron, Brodie and Benton, and his many colleagues and Friends in aviation. Peter was born in Leszno, Poland, November 17, 1935. He was foremost an aviator. He became interested in piloting as a teenager and took his training at Toronto Island Airport. He was hired by Trans-Canada Airlines, now Air Canada, in October, 1957 as a co-pilot and was promoted to captain in July, 1967 at age 31. Widely known as a superb pilot, Pete GUTOWSKI was a master of smoothness and precision in flying. As a hobby Pete flew with Warplane Heritage of Hamilton, Ontario, a society dedicated to maintaining World War 2 airplanes in flying condition. Peter flew as a commercial pilot to the mandatory retirement age of 60. His love of flying then too him to business aviation and he flew a corporate jet for another eleven years, until stricken with cancer. In all, he piloted for 53 accident-free years. He passionately loved the art, and his fellow professionals. Funeral service will be at Saint_Jerome's Parish Roman Catholic Church, 8530 Chinguacousy Road, Brampton, Ontario, on Monday, April 7, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Lionhead Golf and Country Club, 8528 Mississauga Road, Brampton, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Beloved husband, for 61 years, of Ruth JOHNSTON (née DEMONTMORENCY) of Southampton. Dear father of Trudy and her husband John PEIRSON of Southampton, Garry and his wife Caroline of Waterloo and Jodi and her husband Jeff GROSS of Kitchener. Also survived by his sister, Melba STIRLING of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Proud and loving grandfather of Jennifer and John PEIRSON, Melissa PEIRSON and her partner Doug SANDS, Sarah JOHNSTON and Isabella and Henry GROSS. Sadly missed by his great-grandchildren, Christina, Evan and Kelsey WYBORN and Liam SANDS. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Maysel JOHNSTON and by his brother, Gordon. Cremation. HARRIS, Salomon (né CHARYSKI)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Salomon 'Saul' (Charyski) HARRIS of Saint John, New Brunswick, husband of 58 years to Lillian (Zatzman) HARRIS which occurred on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Saint_Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness with Alzheimers. Born in Szopianice, Poland, he was a son of the late, Myer and Deena CHARYSKI and seven siblings. After surviving three concentration camps, Skarsysko, Czestochewa and Buchenwald in Poland from 1942-1945, he moved to Saint John, where he owned and operated Harris Men's Wear on Union Street for over thirty years. Saul was an active member of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue. He enjoyed watching wrestling, playing cards and enjoyed taking walks around the uptown area of Saint John. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Deena HARRIS- PEISER (Tomas) of Rothesay, New Brunswick and Paula POWER (Michael) of Saint John, two grandchildren; Brent PEISER and Jeremy POWER, his sister-in-law, Sophie (Sandler) RICHMOND of Toronto, Ontario, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from Brenan's Chapel at 2: 15 p.m. Interment to take place in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
