BAKER, Chad Bryan
Suddenly, on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Victoria Hospital, Chad Bryan BAKER in his 27th year. Much loved and cherished son of James BAKER (Joanne) and Lori WRIGHT. Loving brother of Aaron BAKER (Linda) and Lyndsey BAKER and step-brother of Nick (Renee) and Patty PEDAKAKIS. Sadly missed by girlfriend Aimee HOFFMAN, grandmother Dorothy BAKER and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by grandparents Norman and Eunice WRIGHT and Albert BAKER. Chad will be dearly missed by many Friends including his best friend and roommate Darryl JOHNSTON. Friends will be received at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the people at Thames Valley Aggregate for their efforts, the staff at London Health Sciences Centre, the Emergency Medical Services workers and Wayne and Melissa CARSEY for their compassion and support.

SHEDD, Marjory
(One of Canada's most gifted Athletes, won National Honours in Basketball and Volleyball but truly excelled in Badminton winning 44 provincial and 23 national titles. A member of the Canadian Amateur Sports Hall of Fame since 1970. She continued to win Tennis Double Titles in the Ontario Senior Games after her retirement from coaching volleyball and badminton at the University of Toronto.)
Suddenly at the South Lake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Saturday, May 10th, 2008, at the age of 82. Marjory SHEDD of Orillia, will be sadly missed by her best friend Helgi PEDEL of Orillia. Marjory was the daughter of the late Florence and Edward SHEDD. She was predeceased by her brothers Phillip, Randolph, Beverley and sisters Dorothy PINK and Kathleen SHEDD. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Relatives and Friends will be received at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street, N., Orillia on Saturday afternoon from 12 Noon until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. After a lengthy illness, in her 75th year, at Parkwood Hospital, London, on April 30th, 2008. Cherished wife of Harold. Beloved Mom of Susan ALLEN (Jim RICHARDSON), Mark ALLEN (Sara), Gary ALLEN and step-mother of Peter BOYD. Much loved "Nana" to Sarah and Laura RICHARDSON, Samantha ALLEN, Laura and Jordan BOYD. Sister-in-law to Russ and Ruby BOYD. Sadly missed "Auntie Max" to several loving nieces and nephews in the Sarnia area. Predeceased by her parents Jean PEDEN and Robert COREY, and brothers Ted (Dot) and Don (Liz) COREY. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 2: 00-4:00 p.m. Private interment service to follow. ALTON, Frederick " Fred" George
Lifelong Markdale resident and respected community leader Frederick (Fred) George ALTON passed away on March 12, 2008 at the age of 78. Visitation was held on March 14 at the May Funeral Home in Markdale. Fred's humour and passion for life were celebrated on Saturday, March 15 at Annesley United Church in Markdale. Rev. Mark R. WAUGH officiated the funeral service. He remembered Fred as a loyal member of the congregation who had the ability to spread laughter throughout the church. David FRIES acted as the Director of Music. Eulogies were given by Fred's daughter Mary Anne, his grandchildren Jackie BURNS, Gracie ALTON, and Sam McKEE, as well as his longtime friend and fellow Rotarian Jerry BARTLEY. Pallbearers were Stan BAKER, Jerry BARTLEY, Carl BENNINGER, Oscar BURNSIDE, Ernie NICHOLLS and Don PLETSCH as well as honourary pallbearers Paul HANERBACH, Erling PEDERSEN and Lloyd SEWELL. Grandchildren Gracie ALTON, Jackie BURNS, Anthony DURKACZ and Sam McKEE acted as flower bearers. Interment followed at Markdale Cemetery. Family and Friends shared their memories of Fred and enjoyed refreshments served by the Annesley Women's Ministry Network in the Annesley Fellowship Hall. Fred was the longest-serving member of the Markdale Rotary Club (49 years) and owned and operated Alton Pontiac Buick for 36 years before retiring in 1998. Fred acted as volunteer firefighter and fire chief for the Markdale Fire Department and attended every Markdale Street Frolic since 1938. Fred was married to his beloved wife Glenora McGEE for 55 years. He was the loving father of Mary Anne ALTON and Andy McKEE of Owen Sound, Glenn and Donna ALTON of Florida and Robert ALTON of Owen Sound. He was a special grandfather of Jackie BURNS and her husband Anthony DURKACZ, Sam McKEE and Gracie ALTON and great-grandfather of Nate DURKACZ. He was predeceased by parents Cecil ALTON and Annie STAPLES, brother Cecil (Sandy) ALTON and sisters Florence PORTER and Ruth BURNSIDE. Donations were made to the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation and Annesley United Church Memorial Fund.

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the sudden passing of Werner OTTEN, surrounded by his family at Victoria Hospital, London on Friday, February 22, 2008, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Adele (JANSSEN) OTTEN for 57 years. Proud and loving father of Irma PEDERSEN, Marita OTTEN and Gerald OTTEN. Dear grandfather of Taylor, Erica, Edward (Shannon), Dan (Jannelle), Erich, Leiah, Brooke and Brooke's mother Susan HOPPER and great-granddaughter Alysse. Also missed by his sister Therese KASSELER, his brother Gunther OTTEN (Margret) and by his sister-in-law Ida MENZ (Udo.) Cremation has taken place. Died peacefully of cancer at Allendale in Milton at the age of 96 on Monday January 14, 2008. Born in East Flamborough, formerly of Nassagaweya and a longtime resident of Milton. Hazel resided at 40 Ontario Street for 25 years, was a member of the Evening Star Rebekah Lodge, The Order of the Eastern Star Halton Chapter, The Campbellville Women's Institute and was a retired employee of P.L. Robertson. Predeceased by her husband Melvin Alexander (April 8, 1989), her sisters Mary and Jean, brothers Ross and George, son-in-law Joe NOVA, grandchildren Ted and Robin HOOD and great-grand_son Curtis HOOD. Survived by one brother Lloyd. Dear mother of Murray (Joan,) Marina (Bill) FOUGERE, and Bruce (Daphne.)
