PIRAK, Everett Leo " Joe"
Passed away peacefully at University Hospital, London on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the age of 92. True and devoted husband of Lucille for 61 years. Treasured and beloved father of Warner, Paul and Kristine. Dear father-in-law of Carolyn TIFFIN (deceased,) Maria Teresa DI PAOLA, and Rick CARTER. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Pierangelo, Gaia, Stephen and Kevin and by his sister Lyla PIRAK. Everett (Joe) was one of London's most highly respected secondary school teachers for over 25 years. He was also a former Navigating Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War when he met his lifelong companion Lucille. The family will receive Friends at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North on Thursday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be conducted on Friday, April 11th, 2008 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in memory of Everett to the Memorial Boys and Girls Club or the charity of your choice. With her husband by her side and surrounded by her loving family, Alma Brodie (CORBETT) RYAN, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in her 82nd year. Loving wife for 62 years to James Stanley RYAN of Goderich. Mother of Alison (Gerry) PAOLIN of Niagara Falls, Mark (Lynn) RYAN of Port Albert and Wendy RYAN of Smith's Falls. Cherished grandmother of Carolyn (Dowds) McCONNELL (Ken) of Niagara Falls, Robin (Melissa) PAOLIN of Smith's Falls, Ian PAOLIN (Tiffany FLECKNEY) of Dryden, Brodie, Jaimee, Sydney and McIlwain RYAN of Port Albert and Katalin, Isaac and Emily BACON of Smith's Falls. She will also be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan McCONNELL and Anson and Sloane PAOLIN. Alma was predeceased by her son-in-law Brian DOWDS and her grand_son Yorkton RYAN. She is survived by her brother, Desmond CORBETT of Scotland, her brother-in-law William RYAN of Goderich and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Scotland. Emigrating from Scotland where she met Stan during World War 2, the couple remained residents of Goderich for over 60 years. Alma worked at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich as a receptionist before retiring in 1991. She was a member of Victoria Street United Church for many years and was an active member of the United Church Women Family will receive Friends at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, in Goderich on Thursday, April 24th from 7-9 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Friday, April 25th at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Maitland Cemetery on a date to be determined. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Computer-Aided Tomography Scan fundraising or the St. Elizabeth Society will be gratefully accepted. BROOKS, Ella Margaret (née PICKERING)
A resident of Chatham, Ella BROOKS died on Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at the age of 88. Born in Harwich Township to the late Warren and Florence (MOORE) PICKERING. Beloved wife of Gordon BROOKS. Loving mother of Linda PAOLUCCI and her husband Pat of London, Shirley McCOLL and her husband Neil of Rodney, and the late Joanne MOORE. Ella will be missed by her grandchildren Shannon, Wendy, Kelly, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Julie, Jared, Jordan, Steven, Cheryl, and Michael, along with her 7 great-grandchildren. She is survived by sister Evelyn WARRINER, brother Gordon PICKERING and his wife Lena, and sister-in-law Gertrude PICKERING. Predeceased by sister Vera Galloway and brother Leonard Pickering. Ella enjoyed Old Time Square Dancing and was very proud to knit mittens for the Goodfellows every year. She was a member of Park Street United Church for many years and later St. Andrew's United. Family will receive Friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 3: 00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, at 1: 30 p.m. from the Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael BROOKS officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. At his residence on Monday, July 21st, 2008, Pat PAOLUCCI of London in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Linda (BROOKS) PAOLUCCI. Pat is survived by his family, Shannon DUBARRY (Steve,) Wendy PILGRIM (Andrew SERVICE) and Kelly PILGRIM (Jamie LAFRAMBOIS) as well as grandchildren Nathan and Lauren, Jacob and Landon. Also sadly missed by dear Friends, Barry and Wendy GILMOUR and their children Megan and Mark. Pat was proud to be on the Board of Directors of the Grand Bend Cruising Club where he had been an active member for 8 years.
