March 22, 1926 to March 27, 2008.

CHURCH and Hilda H. (née

and brother Ian E.H.
Peter, a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design,
dedicated his life to raising interior design standards. He was
proud that the only interiors he hadn't worked on were those
of a rail coach and a plane. Peter lived and worked in Brasil,
England, New York, and Ontario before settling in Vancouver.
His clients, tradespeople, and Friends all became intertwined
to become an extended family.
Peter was a frequent traveler to many countries and enjoyed learning
about different cultures and languages. He also had an appetite
for food from all corners of the world. He was passionate about
art, books, movies, music, and theatre. He held very strong views
on a wide range of subjects -- and was never shy about sharing
these views.
Peter's journey had recently become quite difficult as he bravely
faced a series of illnesses. His courageous struggle was assisted
by too many people to mention individually. Instead, we wish
to thank the good people at Vancouver General Hospital (the Emergency

CHURCH, Harold Peter Hilborne "Peter
CHURCH"
(March 22, 1926 to March 27, 2008)
Peter's earthly journey came to an end five days after his 82nd
birthday. Peter was born in Sao Paulo, Brasil, to Harold F.H.
CHURCH and Hilda H. (née
OWERS.) He was predeceased by his parents
and brother Ian E.H.
Room, Medical Assessment Unit, Ward 11A (ACE), and Palliative
services), the Pacific Spirit Community Health Centre (Home Hospice
Program), and the British Columbia Ambulance Service for providing
outstanding care in difficult circumstances.
Peter will be remembered at a memorial service to be held at
Saint Mary's Kerrisdale, 2490 West 37th Avenue, Vancouver, at 2 p.m.
on Friday, May 2. A Celebration of his life and work will immediately
follow the memorial service. Please contact 604-267-6334 or email
(CelebratePeter@shaw.ca) for additional information.
In lieu of flowers, people are asked to take a friend for lunch,
in memory of Peter.
We have lost a true gentleman.
