SAMS, Rev. Peter Lyle
In hospital at Almonte on Monday afternoon, May 12, 2008. Major The Rev. Lyle SAMS, B.A., C.D. of Almonte. Beloved husband of Margaret Findlay SAMS and loving father of Findlay, Andrew, Mary, Katharine and Matthew, as well as Robin GLOVER, Letitia CLARKE, Geoffrey NOBES and Jean Hee KIM. Loved by his grandchildren, Allison and Gillian, Mia and Ian. Brother of the late Margaret WIIG of Hyderabad, India and brother-in-law of Murray and Carol FINDLAY of Toronto.
During his ministry, Lyle was an Royal Canadian Army Chaplain Corps Chaplain, Minister of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Quebec City, Padre to the Fraser Highlanders and Branch 240 Royal Canadian Legion, Almonte, as well as the White Ensign.
Lyle was an avid golfer, curler, gardener and landscape painter.
Sincere thanks for the kindness of Doctor Franz Ferraris and the Almonte General Hospital medical staff.
A memorial service will be held in the Almonte Presbyterian Church on Monday, May 19th, 2008 at 11 A.M.

A resident of Queens Village, London, formally of Shallow Lake, Ontario. Quietly and peacefully, surrounded by her family, Eleanor continued her spiritual journey beyond this life. With loving gratitude for her blessed life, Eleanor will be remembered by, her daughter Wendy NOBLE and Steve COAD, son Kevin NOBLE and Cathy PASTERNAK and grandchildren Paul COAD and Jennifer NEWMAN, Kevin COAD, Erin COAD, Jessica, Brenden and Christopher NOBLE. Eleanor was the wife and soul mate of the late Bertram Jackson NOBLE (1990) and daughter of the late Mary Ellen Hanna McCALLUM and Charles Andrew McCALLUM. Eleanor was predeceased by infant children Judy and Paul, sisters Clara McCALLUM, Anne FAIR, Olive ASKEW and Jean WEISE and brothers Lorne and George McCALLUM. She is survived by sisters in law Ruth WYATT, Ruby GAMBLE and Verna HUSTON and brother-in-law Stanley WEISE. Eleanor is lovingly remembered by her extended McCALLUM and NOBLE families as well as many dear Friends and neighbours. Services will be held on Thursday February 21st at 1: 00 p.m. at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South in London with the Reverend Matthew PENNY officiating. Visitation is on the day of the funeral at 12 noon. A Memorial Service celebrating Eleanor's life will be held in Shallow Lake at a later date with details to be announced. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annette ROY on February 14, 2008. Beloved wife of Anil ROY for 42 years. Loving mother of Nicola (Arden) ROSAASEN, Julian (Renu) ROY and Matthew ROY. Proud grandmother of Canute, Nathaniel and Leif ROSAASEN, and Aanika and Jaya ROY.
Annette was born in the village of Harlington, South Yorkshire on July 27, 1941 to Thomas and Gladys NOBLE, the fifth of six children, Peter (deceased), Francis, Morris, Brenda and Malcolm. In 1970, she emigrated to Canada with her husband and two young children. She built a life for her family for 26 years in Humboldt, Saskatchewan before retiring to Saskatoon and then Guelph, Ontario.
The family is grateful for the excellent and compassionate care Annette received at Guelph General Hospital.
The family will receive Friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and son Funeral Home, "Hart Chapel", 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. A reception will follow in the fellowship lounge. With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Steven Allen KING. Steven died suddenly and prematurely of a massive heart attack while on his annual ski vacation in Colorado, in his 49th year. He grew up in Collingwood, Ontario, attended Collingwood Collegiate Institute and later graduated from the University of Toronto with his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. His successful garden design and landscape architecture business later expanded to include interior design and his talent was celebrated in many prominent Canadian and American publications. Steven was a keen athlete, pursuing his two great loves - tennis and skiing - with the same passion that he had for everything in life. He loved 'going north' on weekends where he entertained frequently with style and panache. A generous and loving person with incredible energy and style, he brought light and joy to everyone's life. son of Joan KING and the late Clare KING, brother to Diane and Deborah. Dear friend and companion to Peter WARNER. Cherished friend to Jean NOBLE, Anne Noble McKEE and Andrew McKEE and the adored 'Uncle Steven' to Maggie and Abbey McKEE. Steven will also be missed by his beloved golden retriever Celly and his many Friends and the staff of The Toronto Lawn Tennis. It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Paul in his 86th year on July 17, 2008 following a long battle with cancer and cardiovascular disease. son of the late Rev. Edward and Edna (NOBLE,) adored husband of the late Nancy (née LAMB,) loving father to Trish, Vicki and Cathy, proud 'grandpaul' to Alex, Paul, Josh, Caitlin, Graham, and Matthew and great "grandpaul" to Angus, Sage and Jonas. Member of the class of '41 Ridley College, Lieut. (R.C.N.V.R. '43-'44), founding Priest (1962) and first Rector of St. Matthew Apostle, Oriole, Willowdale (1964-89) and former Padre of H.M.C.S. "York" Toronto. Dad spent many wonderful retirement years fishing the waters of Lake Kawagama, caring for his home and garden and enjoying his many Friends in the Dorset community. A service celebrating his life will be held on Monday July 28, 2008 at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria St. Aurora, Ontario L4G 1R3. Dorothy passed away at Lisaard House hospice in Cambridge, Ontario on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the age of 75. Dorothy will be remembered for her compassion and for her love of life. Dorothy is survived by her children Dan HORCHIK, Lynn MORTIMER and John HORCHIK, her daughters-in-law Christine JORDON and Emma HORCHIK, and her grandchildren Correne MORTIMER, Melissa MORTIMER, Geoffrey MORTIMER and Erin HORCHIK. Dorothy is also survived by sisters Joan SCRIVER and Jean NOBLE. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Bill NOBLE, and her sister Barbara McCREA.
