After more than 91 years of 'Living It Up', Mary (Molly)
NIVEN
passed away peacefully at Belmont House on July 10th, 2008. Beloved
wife of the late James (Jim) Dickie
NIVEN.
Loving mother of Charlotte
(Michael), James (Vicky) and Ian (Mary). Adored Nana of Stephen,
Julie, Katie, Laura, Patrick, Michelle, Jamie, Stephanie, Liam
and Aaron. Molly's early years were full of gaiety and adventure
and she didn't settle down until she met a handsome emigrating
Scot on the ship back to Canada. While very content as a wife
and mother, she endured numerous personal and health challenges.
But it was through these challenges that she demonstrated her
incredible strength and will. She always maintained that devilish
twinkle in her eye, a joie de vivre and an incredible sense of
humour throughout the various obstacles that she faced. At Christmas,
her grandchildren would surround her and she would captivate
them with tales of her youth and growing up in Montreal and cottaging
at Stoney Lake. Molly was a very glamorous woman and a fashion
role model for her grandchildren. She spent the past few years
at Belmont House where she was so comfortable. Belmont House
is an incredible organization and residence because of the great
compassion of the nurses and caregivers who take such an interest
in the residents as individuals. The family wishes to express
their deepest appreciation to all the staff. A private family
celebration was held on July 12th. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery,
where she will be laid to rest along side her husband, Jim. Funeral
Arrangements entrusted to Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel (416-767-3153).
If desired, donations in Molly's honour to Belmont House, 55 Belmont
St, Toronto M5R 1R1, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Suddenly at his home in Huntsville, Ontario on Wednesday April 9,
2008. George
GARLAND formerly of Toronto in his 82nd year. Beloved
husband of the late Bette. Dear father of Mary and her husband
Robert KRUYS of London, Nicholas of Toronto, George Jr. and his
wife Kathleen also of Toronto. Also remembered by dear friend
Joy McCASKELL.
Loving grandfather of Marika, Joshua and Elijah.

Gerald GARLAND. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held.
