NISBET,
Maria
Luisa
Teresa
Coia Salvatore
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Leisureworld
- Ellesmere in Toronto. Beloved mother of Elena (Jonathan) and
the late Alma (1987) and the wife of the late Robert (1963).
Luisa is also survived by her brother Amedeo and sister-in-law
Sheena, her many nieces and nephews, cousins and Friends in Canada,
Scotland, Italy and France. She fought to live with every ounce
of her being, and refused to give in. She was in every way a
lover of life, who lived each day with determination and spirit
while embracing all the possibilities that she could accomplish.
Although severely challenged by many physical obstacles, Luisa
never gave up her quest for living and learning. A gourmet cook
who taught cooking at Seneca College, she volunteered many hours
to the Canadian Amateur Music Association and
to Gilda's Club
in Toronto. She was loved by many and will be forever missed.
Special thanks to all the wonderful people who gave her their
love and support throughout the years. Many thanks to the staff
at Leisureworld - Ellesmere for their kind and gentle caring
these past 18 months: Rick and his team, Annaliza and her team,
all of the terrific staff on 3B, Marina and her team, Lina, Danny,
Lorraine and their team, all of the administrative and operational
staff, the doctors and volunteers, and everyone who touched my
mother by kindness and tried to make her days brighter. The family
will receive Friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard
Ave. East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) on Friday from 4-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at St. Batholomew
Catholic Church, 59 Heather Rd. (Brimley Rd., north of Sheppard).
Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
made to Canadian Amateur Music Association Ontario Music Centre
or Gilda's Club would be appreciated by the family.
